Kobe vs. McGrady last night

McGrady can score anytime he wants and has put up a 30+ pt season. But he has become the first superstar guard in a long time to find the proper niche when when playing with a good team. Kobe and AI havent been able to do it. I think Kobe needs to play more like TMac if the Lakers are to succeed....or else they'll get destroyed by any of the top teams.

Kobe doesn't have many options on the floor and that's why they're gonna get knocked out of the playoffs.

I liked Kobe's 50ft. 3pt attempt at the end of the game with like 4 seconds left. Coulda tried to find a better shot, or gotten a quick two and then fouled and maybe hoped for a 2pt game next possesion.

As a Kings fan, I have no love for Kobe. But even I have to recognize that the Lakers needed every one of those 50 point games and without them, they'd be in a world of hurt. I'm kind of surprised though since Odom and Walton are back, but they definitely are not playing like they did at the beginning of the season.

Kobe is simply amazing right now, like him or not (and I don't) but it won't get them a championship, take it from someone who watched Iverson try to do it for many years.

I'd probably agree with Kobe being one of the best offensive players in the league, but I'm not so sure about Tmac and his 42.9% shooting. Nash shoots better from 3 what both players shoot from the field overall.

That was an amazing sequence, but how often does that happen? Not very much obviously, because he only shoots 42.9%.

puhlease, T-Mac is no Kobe...Kobe is on another level. With that said I hate him as a player.

It's hard to quantify Kobe's skill level. For us basketball fans there are certain players we watch that just make the game look so easy and effortless. Kobe is one of few in the league that can do that nearly every night. As good as Mcgrady is he just doesn't have that x-factor that Kobe does.

Still, he needs a team if he wants to win another ring. The Lakers actually have a decent roster this year but nearly everyone is playing hurt right now. If they were 100% like in the beginning of the season things would be much different.

mcgrady is capable of shooting a better percentage if his team ran a different offense. just look at his years in orlando, he shot better than 45% for most of the time he was there.

I love T-mac but Kobe is the better player and more durable. But Yao>everyone else on the lakers

mcgrady is capable of shooting a better percentage if his team ran a different offense. just look at his years in orlando, he shot better than 45% for most of the time he was there.

He's playing with arguably the best center in the NBA. There are no excuses for shooting such a poor percentage. Oh, and 45% isn't exactly lighting the league on fire either.

Edit: He probably used to shoot a higher percentage because he didn't used to be so soft. He used to take it to the hoop more often.

It was a nail-biter for sure. Yao completed dominated for the Rockets. T-Mac made up for his poor shooting with his 3 clutch FTs at the end. Kobe actually doesn't surprise me anymore, even when scoring 53 points. He's just that good.

yes he is. hes past him prime now, but his offense is as deadly as kobe...especially when you factor his assists in. pretty much everyone who knows an once of basketball would agree hes one of the best players of his generation.
