OH CRAP! The instructions say to charge no more than 8 hours, but the stupid power kept going out one night and the timer kept getting reset. And by my estimates it had charged 8 and a half hours.

Now that I see there was a peak shut down, maybe I didn't let it charge enough? These were new batteries, does anybody know if I killed their runtime by doing this? I figure it must have been close to peak though, maybe only 7 hours of charging instead of 8?

Target has a Rayovac charger that takes about 8 hours to charge AA or AAA batteries. Holds 4, but you can put in 1, 2, 3 or 4 at a time. Trickle charges when they are fully charged to keep them at top capacity so you can keep them in the charger until you are ready to use them. I got one for $9.95. How much do AAA nimhs cost? I think this would be a better charger than the Kodak, but you don't get the 4 AAAs.

Mine arrived in 3 days. Nice little charger, and I needed the AAA's. Maybe your order got lost. Did you get a confirmation? Why not contact them.

These batteries are only 1.2V each, so it's a little low for some devices. Probably should be OK for something like an MP3 player, but on my TI graphing calculator, I need to turn the contrast up really high to be able to read the screen. I'm guessing that frequent recharges are going to be necessary with these in order to power up my calculator.

I don't know if I'd bother with rechargable batts for a calculator. I mean they should last a whole semester or two (or more, I've had one set last a couple years on occasion, just depends on how much you use the calculator) with only one set of normal batteries. Wheras with rechargables you lose 1% charge a day, so they are useless in 3 months regardless of your use of the calculator.

Don't forget, at sam's you can get a charger (110v only) with EIGHT (yes 8) AA batteries (1700mAh I think they were) for only $20. Energizer brand.
