Kodak lost something around $800 million to a billion in a patent infringement case to Polaroid in the 80s. They lost even more due to lost development time, dismantling of entire factories and divisions, etc.

Hopefully their next stop is Microsoft. VC++ also infringes upon that patent. Microsoft will just buy Kodak in the event that such a battle takes place.

So it's not that they can't sell film it's just that not as many people are buying it?

I hope he's aware that they sell other things and not just consumer 35mm film.

They closed plants in Australia due to declining film sales.

They still sell film, just not as much as they used to (thanks to digital cameras (what they said)).
