Ehhhhhhh... this isn't 80's or 90's. USDA ground beef (which is all in US) is very well regulated.

Actually, USDA Inspectors visit each plant once a year to verify its cleanliness, methods, etc. (Hence the "USDA Inspected" stamp)
Oh yeah, they call at least a week in advance of their visit.
(I have done work in meat processing plants, I will not divulge what I have seen!)

At least they're making money with dogs. Look at our system where there are so many dogs in our pounds that we have to train people to kill them to make room for more. If it were okay to eat dogs in the States, we'd put those dogs to SOME use.

When I was in Korea for a couple of years, I saw a few of these dog raising farms (almost like compounds, with high fences) around Seoul. You could never see what was going on inside. I know the rumor is that these farms beat the dogs before killing them but I haven't seen any news coverage about this one way or another.

I think the US is pretty unique in how they treat animals. A lot of other countries (including Korea) don't have many humane societies or veterinarians and treat pets as disposable.

Also the dogs bred for food are not 'pets'...they are bred stupid and passive.

As opposed to pet dogs which are bred to be as aggressive as possible.
