Yawn.

Enough with the nationalistic scum.

Way too many people think that if they or their team doesn't win, it's because everyone else is out to get them. Koreans aren't the only ones who think that way. Obviously, the Russians do. Apparently a lot of Canadians do. Most Americans do, too. Heck, the guy in the office next to me is a staunch conservative, and he seems to think that all of the evil liberals are out to slur the conservatives!

I know it's very difficult, but people should really at least try to remove their own personal biases when they look at something like this. It's hard to lend any creedence to anyone's argument when it's pretty clear that they really have no idea about what's right and wrong, and instead only care because their side is getting hurt.

<< shame on you.. america..

but can't perform a game in harmony..

Look at me! I'm Heedory! I am incapable of forming my own opinion so instead I regurgitate nonsensical propaganda largely irrelevant to this thread. Soon I will be banned by the great Satan for spreading the truth about your evil nation! Ohno is the anticrist!! w000000t!

you are the most powerful in the earth.
but maybe the most unwanted country...

Funny, you didn't feel that way when your country was overun by the North.

Hey Luckster, don't confuse them with the truth, they aren't use to hearing it.. especially from their masters in their corrupt Government. That picture clearly shows the type of sportsmanship Korea is well known for.

<< everyone except american knows kim was robbed. >>

Funny...wasn't the judge who disqualified Kim an Australian? Last I checked, they're not Americans.

Back under the bridge, troll!

Ohno's as much an a$$hole as one could get. I saw all the programs. The first-rated Korean skater had skills. Ohno shoved people a couple of times. Enough said.

get real.

When Ohno took the silver after the first race, he accepted it with grace and dignity -- did u see him at the medal ceremony? That is an excellent sign of sportsmanship.

Kim throwing his flag and skating over it, kicking blocks, that is NOT sportsmanship.

sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.....
sometimes life is fair, sometimes life sux.......

it all depends on point of view.

just think of it other way around...
if American skater was DQ for gold, and Korean got the gold....
every American would be pissed... and every Korean would be happy...

long as offical was not paid to fix the game... probably not ...
let offical be offical and let skater be skater...

The *real* motivation behind the Korean guy getting DQ'ed must be all the pressure of "gold or nothing" attitude among Koreans.

Gosh.. all these nationalistic elements in their news articles are simply sickening.. and what? Silver is useless? If Kim won a silver without breaking the rules, I wouldn't be surprised to find the top sports media reporting sh*t like, "What happened to our world champion?" and all sorts of BS.

(I despise the Korean media much more than I despise ZDNet. Does that tell you enough? )

I admire Ohno and his great attitude of winning silver after the fall and getting a cut. And it seems to me that Kim really did break the rules. So the man deserves the gold too.

<< The Korean guy was robbed, the American made a drama, when in fact the Korean was holding the same line he had on every lap, plus he had the right to be where he liked as he was in the lead. The American knew he couldn't get past, so he drew attention to a minor thing, in order to get the judges eye. As for suing, that is pathetic, you win some, you lose some!! Hey ho!! >>

Your opinion should be respected but I wondering what race you were watching. The rules are quite clear. The Korean broke the rules and was disqualified. If you're a fan of short track skating, this is not unusual.

I dunno. If you watch the race, yes you can see he changes lanes, but he normally skates a tight track. So the real question is when did he start to change lanes, if it was before ohno got to the passing move then all isn't fine, unless this guy has 270 vision, it would have been difficult to see ohno, but if he knew that ohno was moving up then he definitley should be disqualified. As far as teh other race if you guys watched it, it wasn't an intentional pull down, everyone crashed within a couple of milliseconds, so while the pic looks bad, it really wasn't just part of teh race. And as far as Kim acting the way he did, I would say that would be all they need to reject the complaint.

That, my friend, is a very good line!

Good racers, whether ice skaters, horse riders, or NASCAR drivers know exactly where the competion is at all times.

I totally agree with this, both silver and bronze medalists were gracious in light of the Korean dragging them down.
It seemed they realized no sense crapping on the Australian's time. The Aussie was kind of like, "who me". And was equally sporty. You would have to think that within the ST communitity it will be understood that that set of medals has an asterik beside it. As for Ohno's gold that was legit.

The Korean in the 1000m lost his footing, no one caused him to lose his footing. Ive seen every angle, several times. The Korean took to aggressive of a path, lost his footing in the turn and went sliding into Ohno and the Canadian. The same Korean did that same exact thing in a 1500m semi-final heat. Took to agressive of a path(he was in the lead), lost the edge of his skate and went sliding, taking out someone again. Both times he lost his footing on turns, both were his fault.
