Koss has 25% off their own products with coupon code [code deleted] [Exp 5/9].
www.koss.com
The products are made in the USA, and carry a LIFETIME warranty (don't need a receipt either). If it breaks or wears out, send it back with $6, and it comes back like new.

The PRO 4AA headphones are the best in the world. I had mine repaired twice in 12 years. Once for the cord, one for the ear cups. They came back like new - I was surprised. Great company, great products

The PRO 4AA headphones are the best in the world.

Thanks for posting this deal, but that statement shows that you just don't have a clue. Audiophile headphones range up in price to the $12,000.00 level (Sennheiser Orpheums), and there are many, many headphones (literally dozens and dozens of models) that are far superior to the Pro4AA's. Your statement is akin to "my Pontiac GrandAm is the best car in the whole world!"

The Pro4AA's are OK, and they give nice sound isolation, but I personally find them to be a bit bulky, weighty & uncomfortable (they even make my ears sweat), and they sound bass-heavy. There would be a nearly universal audiophile consensus that in the $60-100 pricerange, the Grado SR-60's and SR-80's are the 'phones to beat. For a little more money, the Shure earplug models become an interesting alternative. I got a pair of Sennheiser 580's with headphone amp for $120 on eBay, and they would trounce any Koss 'phones except for the defunct $500 Koss electrostats.

I do really like the SportaPro's and the KSC-35's for lightweight portable use, but I think that you can match Koss retail-25% at a number of online vendors (try Amazon).

Not only that but those are not even Koss top-of-the-line headphones. The best Koss phone are the ESP-950 Electrostatic headphones that I also own.

Yeah, and the best cars in the world are $1mil+... that doesn't mean that a $30k Lexus isn't a good car. I have the Koss r/100 that i've had repaired twice in about 8 years (the right ear cup seems to just fall off after about 4 years for some reason) and they suit my gaming needs excellently ($40 + $6 per repair).

The posters are all correct. Koss makes great headphones. There are better values in the upper low range. The real value here is the Koss KSC-35 portable headphones. These are maybe the best exercise headphones in the world. They were long discontinued, and the opportunity to get them at this kind of price is marvelous.

Yeah, I love my KSC-35's. They are the only conventional outer-ear headphones that I can wear comfortably while lying in bed. And you're right, Cybrid, they are excellent for exercise use. Earplug phones tend to transmit any jiggles of the cord to your earplugs.

elgorey, I think the KSC-35's use the same driver element as the PortaPro's, whereas the KSC-50's use the Sportapro's. The Portapro driver is a bit bigger and has a lower driver resonance, so the bass should be a bit better (and perhaps the sensitivity a little higher). I know that the Koss specs don't show that, but the quoted freq. response of 15-25000 Hz is ludicrous in any case.

The KTX-Pro's at about $12.50 each at either Amazon or Buy.com are astoundingly, mind-bogglingly good for the price -- head & shoulders above what you get with a Walkman. But don't take my word for it -- you can try them at any Radio Shack, where they are re-sold under the name "Pro35A." At $39.95, I might add.
