Yes, the hack 1) Removes macrovision; 2) Makes the player region independent; 3) Disables UOP,
which is the "feature" that otherwise forces you to watch those FBI warnings. once hacked, you
can skip right over those roadblocks.

Just hooked another friend up with one...Everyone who sees these loves the look, especially
when they find out how much they cost and what they do...

lokitech, are you taking about the files on yahoogroup site? The second file listed there does demacrovision and region free.

yes come w/ remote that color matches the player (so if you get an ugly color player, you get an ugly colored remote) +the remote is kinda big and chunky

Just got back from Target and they had 2 of the red ones for $69.xx. I don't think some of the people here understand that it is only the blue ones that are $49.95 right now. I hid..............I mean left them there.

Does anyone know how long they go between price markdowns and in what increments?

i called around and only seemed to have the purple ones for ~$69
meh, even if it is purple, if the price goes down i think it'd be worth it...

and i think clearance prices fluctuate weekly, at least that's what the sales rep told me.

Checked my So. Cal Target at lunch and they finally clearanced the purple one with designs to $69. But the solid purple and orange with flowers are still $99! I wonder who decided they were not as hideous and should still sell for full boat. Won't bite until they reach $49, which they all should soon.

Yes if you make it VCD/SVCD, this player is capabable of playing it.

Okay, Target in Dallas ran out of Blue versions. So they have the red one in clearance for $69.xx. I asked the guy worked there, he said it will be likely in about a week, this $69.xx will drop down to $49.xx. So you better check it back in about a week.

after my long trip to LI to pick one of these up for $49.98, all my friends are asking for them... so I called all the Target stores around to see if they had them, what colors and what their prices were. Most said they had them, they were either $99 or $69 (different stores have different clearance items) and most had purple.

When i called the store in Meriden, they said they were $99 and they had Blue and Silver players in stock. The guy also said that these things are usually on clearance every few weeks. I'm tempted to bring the purple one I got for $49 up to that store and exchange it for a different color.

ok, Target is rediculous. I went to Target last weekend and couldn't find the blue ones, only to find the purple w/ squares is on sale for 69.98. I just went there today (Thursday 10/10/02) and saw ONE blue one on the clearance rack. I thought.."cool, it is my day today!!!" So I grabbed it and had the guy scanned it and it turned out to be 69.98. I questioned him if that's a price mistake as it has been marked down to 49.95 damn near all the Target long time ago. He said.."well, that's what the system shows."

So I am back to square one and gonna go check tomorrow to see if their pricing team has finally got their heads out of their a$$ and mark down the blue one or the purple one w/ squares. In my opinion they should just mark down on all colors at once because they are all pretty $hitty color if you asl me. But of course, I can justify it @ the right price.

Went to target today and all they had were the hideos purple ones at $69.98. They never have any of the clearance GC games either

I don't seem to have any luck with these Target clearance deals. I couldn't find any of these at the Northgate (Seattle) location. I also couldn't get any of the Ti calculators or Norelco (and Braun) electric shavers on clearance. The best clearance deal I've found is an HP Photosmart 1115 printer for ~$140.

only purples at $69 i think . . . i'll settle for ugly purple (even the one with the hideous tiles design for $50) . . . hope they'll mark those down next week . . .
