Great price. I got one of these several months ago and ended up taking it back. Might not have for $49 though. Warning, I wanted to be able to play regular audio cds with it, which it does of course, but it spins audio cds with hurricane ferocity and noise. Could hear the stupid thing spinning from across the room even with the stereo it was attached to turned up pretty high.

one guy gives a suggestion on how to deal with the heat problem.

i think i might get the one from amazon.com... the extra $50 is worth the silver color and not some gay purple or pink one ;p

I just price challenged amazon.com with the target price... they are affiliated, so they shouldn't have a problem lowering the price to $49.98. I'll be checking quite often and will let everyone know if amazon matches it.

i just got a couple yesterday for 49.88, i can tell you that target will NOT price match other targets, period. I have 4 store close by, and another 6 within 30 miles and NONE of them will do it.

I will scan my recipt and email it to you monday (scanner at work). Good luck.

BTW I got a copy of WarCraft III for only $12.50 tonight from the same target (Las Collinas, TX). That's something no one can beat.

My local target just went on clearance on the DVP2165 Koss HipHues DVD Player. This is NOT the aqua blue one. This is the one w/ design on purple case. It is up to you to decide which one is uglier.

Just FYI. I am gonna check them every week. I was told by the guy at Target that IF they lower the price, it will on the coming Friday. So I am gonna check up on it this coming Friday to see what's up.

OK people, I just got back from my trip to Long Island... and it was interesting to say the least.

The main reason for going out to the island (I live in CT) was because The Wiz in Plainview was going out of business and EVERYTHING was 50-70% off (Wiz is like BestBuy... sort of). Today was only the second day of the sale, so I figured I would be able to get some good stuff. Well, I was wrong... after just ONE day, they were pretty much sold out of everything. The only stuff they had left were a bunch of crappy cds and dvds. I ended up not getting anything.

The SECOND reason for going out to Long Island was because they had 4 Targets within 30 minutes of Plainview. I wanted one of these DVD players, and I wanted it NOW!!! Went to the closest Target to The Wiz, found their electronic dept. and was told to look in the clearance section. After about 10 minutes of searching through the store for the clearance section, I was VERY happy when I finally saw a shelf full of the Koss players. Now I had to choose between purple, purple with some gay design on it or orange with flowers on it. I decided on the purple, since that was the least 'gay' of them all.

Grabbed my Koss, got in line and now here comes the fun part... the little f*cker rings up as $108 and change. :Q I tell the cashier (she was pretty hot, btw) that it is on clearance for $69.98 but is supposed to ring up as $49.98, so after trying to get her manager, she asked if I would go get her the shelf tag. I went and got it, she scanned it in and the price shows up as $70ish. Well F*CK ME. I said "Strange, this is supposed to ring up as $49.98"... so what does she do??? She clears everything and manually enters in the price as $49.98, making my entire trip to Long Island worth it. I thanked her, took my dvd player and embarked on my trip home (I managed to get lost... F*CK ME again).

Well boys and girls, that's it for me tonight. I've had a VERY long day and need my sleep so I can watch football and eat Arby's all day tomorrow

Oh, and I should probably add:
...and he lived happily ever after, watching pr0n and Family Guy VCDs on his Koss dvd player.

Been running mine all weekend and the darn thing runs everything that i could throw at it. It even plays the MPEG clips that my Sony mavica took that was in my jpeg photo album CD. WAY TOO KOOL...
They are right about this thing running hot, i gotta dig out another 12 volt power supply to see if that helps it run cooler. All in all this player is a very good deal at $49.98.

BTW...
One of the target I went to had the silver koss dvd player in a normal looking box for $99. This unit was placed by the other dvd players.

Price match at target no go. The item number is one digit off because of the different color of the unit, and manager told me they don't price match clearance items too. Thanks lokitech anyway.

Please let us know about the Amazon price match! I would buy this thing in a heartbeat in silver. However one thing bothers me, comparing this to my Apex ~$50 player. It appears the Koss does not decode DTS but my Apex does? Is this correct?

One more thing.. if this thing really can fast forward past all the FBI garbage that is an AWESOME hack I have not seen elsewhere! Can most DVD players be hacked to bypass this ridiculous waste of time? (as if that message stops anyone from copying a movie!)

I bought the thing last June & hooked it up in my minivan connected to the 7 inch drop down LCD screen I installed on the ceiling.
It runs on 12VDC so it's a natural for playing discs in the car. It sits right on top of the Vid player and I have a nifty 4 position AV switch so I can watch from different sources. Of course I don't watch as I am usually driving, but it is nice when going camping to sit in the van one evening and watch a killer dvd. The kids have been watching Monsters Inc dvd & Wallace and Grommit vid a lot lately.
