Koss KSC35 Headphones $14.96

On clearance at my local Circuit City in Columbia, SC. Don't know if its a national thing. These headphones have great reviews.

Circuit City has been clearing these out for quite a while. I picked up a pair several months ago for $14.96 to use with my Rio, then came across another pair about a month ago for the same price. In both cases, I took the last pair on the shelf. At this point, they may be hard to find. Here's some info on them.

I bought these Koss headphones and they became uncomfortable after roughly a year of use.

The foam earpads wore out (became soft), and I doubt I'll be able to find inexpensive replacements for just the pads. Besides the earpads, the construction is solid. In fact, part of the discomfort is due to the fact that the band is still stiff, and applies steady pressure inward at the ears, which feel pinched due to the softness of the pads.

I'm not sure how other Koss headphones fare over time.

manly, you can adjust the headband on these headphones by opening it up a little bit. I have these same headphones (Pro 35 @ Radio Shack) and I though the sound was great, but they were a little uncomfortable after using them for about an hour. After opening up the headband a bit, I'm now able to wear them for longer periods of time. By the way, these headphones are on sale at Radio Shack this month for $19.99 (half price from $39.99) and the model is the Pro 35 at R.S. Yeah, R.S. prices are a rip-off, but buying them at the store for $19.99 might be a bit less than buying them from Amazon and having to pay for shipping.

Circuit City has been getting rid of these for a while. Unfortuantely I haven't been able to find any. Good thing I already have two pairs and with Koss's replacement system, I probably don't need to buy another one. They are awesome though.

I currently have the Koss ksc 50's. Are the 35's a big step up from the 50's??

You should be able to find replacement foam pads at radio shack. I had the sportapro's and some radio shack pads fit them perfectly, made them sound better too.

The KSC50's and the KSC35's use the same driver so they're basically the same thing ( I have both right now and will be returning the 50's). The 35's are a lot lighter and fit better. The 50's are better looking, though.

You're right, but it seems odd that I have to physically alter the headband to get optimal comfort. The headphones were pretty comfortable when I first got them.

On a whim, I checked out http://www.koss.com and they sell all kinds of Koss earpad replacements for only $5 shipped. They also claim lifetime warranty for their headphones.

So it definitely looks like Koss stands by their products, instead of the standard American way of encouraging disposal of used products to sell new products.

KOSS lifetime warranty for their headphones,is the best, I bought a pair in 1985 "KOSS SST/5, I ran them over with my car and for shiping I got a new pair ,I ran 250w through them sent them back same deal
and now I use them for late night "UNREAL"
