<< Do you think the KT333A will offer Serial ATA(AKA Firewire inside)? >>
LOL... hehehahah... ohh ohh.. wait I have catch my breath.. hehe You actually would think INTEL (who BTW made Serial ATA) is gonna HELP VIA make it compatible with their southbridges? (Remember Intel and VIA's court meetings?) Unfortunately IT will HAPPEN.. But wont be on the KT333 or KT333A (doesnt seem like VIA will jump onboard until Intel says OKAY!!) VIA will probably implement it maybe when the "Thouroghbred" Athlon come out, but I doubt it. VIA might do it when the "HAMMER" cpu's come out. Though AMD has its own Hyper Transport that can be used instead of Serial ATA, but it seems it wont be used.
About the Fire Wire, I dont think southbridges currently support iEEE 1394 (Fire wire) in the chipset configuration like they do of USB. Current Ti (Texas Instruments) and NEC (Dunno what that stands for) Have Fire Wire Chips that can be Put on the motherboard, but not in the southbridge. I actaully think there IC manufacturer's are dong nothing these days.
WTH do we still have PARALLEL ports ( I got a Parallel Printer, BUT there are USB converters) Also I think we should shrink it down to 1 SERIAL PORT! I dont see the need for 2 of 'em. Why cant PC makers take APPLES's LEAD. Apple only has USB, FIREWIRE on the back of their PC's. They know the old technology does not matter anymore. If you still got old peripherals, use an OLD computer, but if we will move forward they have to get rid of the old stuff from motherboards.
