kt7-raid and agp 4x

WCPUID says my setup only supports 1x and 2x. but i thought the kt7 supported 4x?

Mine supports 4x. You have to install via all in one driver from http://www.abit-usa.com/

that was the first thing i did when i setup my system.

ok.. i went searching in bios and i put it on 4x, rebooted and ran wcpuid again.. IT STILL SAYS I am running in 2X When i KNOW I put it on 4x in the bios

whats the deal

Doesn't anyone understand what the AGP 'x' is? It refers to the speed at which texture data is transferred from main memory to the graphics board. Even at 4x, if you have to get texture data from main memory, you have already lost the battle. Its just too slow. I'm runing at 2x, the default, and I'm not obsessing about it. Just my $0.02

braggin rights? i rather my CPUID saying 4000mhz even if its running the same as what i have now

You may have to apply the reg patch that's floating around...this forces VIA MBs to use 4X AGP. Check here:

It happens with the 6.18 drives, to work around it, I just installed that patch

not sure if this helps, but here's something that MIGHT apply to you if your running Win2000 on that AMD board. AMD Win2k Patch
