Saw the movie...Love it...It's kinda spoof film based on Western "The Matrix" movie.

This movie spoofs a lot of other movies, including classics like the Shining! Matrix, Shaolin Soccer, etc.... just pay attention to the scenes!

Many people don't get it though... so they miss the real joke.

and it makes fun of chinese folklore....

and FPS.guy, just watch the subtitles, it's not worth watching a dub

I watched it in SG, and I'll give it average rating. It's a mixture of western and Asian movies (such as Matrix, a few like the Godfather scenes (possibly from Infernal Affairs), and so on.

I agree that many Cantonese movies will not be funny if they are translated into other languages such as Mandarin or English but the worse is with subtitles either in English or other languages. I think Stephen Chow's older movies such as Kwok Chan 007 (in Cantonese, I don't remember what is called in English), King of Comedy, list goes on, are more funnier.

I'm having trouble finding one with ENGLISH subtitles in my area (Alhambra, CA). I went in a few weeks ago and they had plenty of Region 3 DVD's with NO ENGLISH subtitles. The DVD was only $9.99! I went in today and they said that they finally had received some Region 3 WITH ENGLISH subtitles, but they had sold out (it cost $22.99).

Alhambra is an area with a lot of CHINESE speaking people. I'm white and don't speak or read Chinese. So my only question was WHY on Earth did the English Subtitled one sell out when the one with Chinese only was $9.99!?!?!? It's not like there are that many white people in this area!

At any rate, this was at Firelink Entertainment on W. Las Tunas Dr (technically San Gabriel, CA). Can anyone who lives in this area (and I am sure there are plenty on here) who know another store I can buy this with English Subtitles? I'd like to watch it tonight!

Bump for an answer to Atrac's question. I'm looking for the DVD with English in either the San Gabriel area or somewhere near Redondo Beach... and I'm looking for this weekend.

Shaolin Soccer is better but this is bigger budget and more geared for Kung Fu buffs.

Their prices for the Limited Edition with the easter eggs and the whole kaboodle is probably the cheapest online. They only had the Mandarin version from China at my local Chinatown.
