Ng's doing his own stuff now. I just recently saw him in a mainland television series.

BTW, i just saw Hustle this past Saturday. I dind't like it at all. DO NOT expect old school Stephen Chow humor. There's very little story, and even less laughs. It's mainly an action movie. And the action has all been done all ready and it's hard to take the action serious because the movie is so silly. There was actually a road runner vs wile e coyote scene! Most of the limited humor is unoriginal and recycled.

I really liked Shaolin Soccer, though. That's prob his best movie since hsi early 90's ones.

last time i saw ng, he was in some sort of comedy horror movie where towards
the end, 2 big busted girls were beating him up w/ their breastusus and he yelp later
that the boobs knock out his contacts, therefore he couldn't see sh*t, much less being
hypnotized by the villain's gaze......anyone know the title of this flick?

i read he's going to make a sequel to god of cookery next, but
now that kung fu hustle has broken all sorts of box office records
in asia, he's already reading kfh 2 scripts already

I was surprised ng man tat didn't have a role/cameo in Kungfu Hustle. But Stephen chow's last work before Kungfu Hustle (2004) was Shaolin soccer (2001) which had Ng Man tat. So it was just one film without him. I heard Stephen chow directed some soap opera/sitcom series during that hiatus from movies.

i've seen the boot leg of this movie in toronto a couple weeks ago and it was pretty good. i still think shaolin soccer was much funnier

rumor said that he and Chow had an argument so Chow won't cast him anymore in his films. Word on the street is Chow is actually quite an arrogant man. Remember that guy in Shaolin Soccer whom he plays Chow's partner, the old monk with "hard head," Wong Yat Fe; rumor said he too had an argument with Chow.

Kung Fu Hustle is out in theatres nationwide today! go watch it if you haven't already done so. It is in cantonese with English Subtitles!

It wasn't too bad, almost as good as Shaolin Soccer. The only thing that drags it down is the last fight, honestly; somehow it isn't as intense or entertaining as the other fights.

But the rest of the movie... pretty good. :thumbsup:

hilarious movie very cartoony. I saw previews of it while i was visiting Hong Kong a few months ago and thought "I've gotta check this movie out". I later saw a subbed version... in Jan


are they dubbing it or leaving it subbed?

this movie was freaking great

one of the best comedies I have seen in while

i have only seen the dubbed version of shaolin soccer and compared to that this one is much better

see it in theaters!

and I will definitely be picking up the DVD

Wow, I am so suprised at how well Kung Fu Hustle is doing. Ive been watching Stephen Chow movies since the 90s and never wouldve guessed he'd make it internationally. Kung Fu Hustle was great except for the ending fight scene imo. The scenes at the village were the best, lol funny.

i also saw it in the theater when I was in taiwan over winter break. FUnny it was in both mandarin and canto and already had english subs. I guess they are really globalizing their movie production now

I didn't like either movies. When I saw the trailers in the theatre, in my head I was like "OMG .... so fobby." I was actually embarrassed to be Chinese.

Yup, that was the intent. Got the sounds and everything. Shaolin Soccer was one of the best he had in awhile. Kung Fu hustle is nowhere near as good as any of his old stuff.
