no actually, it doesn't take talent to produce that. I could write 10 3 minute songs in 30 minutes, while watching tv, with lyrics. but like nirvana, they would suck.
kurt cobain was not an incredible songwriter, he was a bad singer, and he was a terrible guitar player. what made him stand out was his passion and his drive, not his talent, because he had none. he made up for it in emotion.

thomsbrain - do it then. I'll give you a week to come up with 3 songs with half the emotion and talent of Nirvana. Again, i'm not a fan, but i'm a guitar player for 16 years.

Good call. Nevermind is a mind blowingly good CD. If you want to mellow it out a bit, and to show that the guys in Nirvana could really play, check out their Unplugged in NY CD. Its a winner. In Utero is really good as well. Incesticide is decent. I'm not a huge fan of Bleach. Muddy Banks of the Wishkah is their live (but touched up) stuff. They were an amazing band. <sigh>
