Just pulled the trigger for one, @ $57.23 this is dirt cheap (remote control/BeyondTV software etc.) I don't give a dime whether rebate may work or not.
Keep my fingers crossed.
It may end my search for the 64 bit HDTV tuner doesn't cost $$$.

Does the BeyondTV software works on XP64? According to reviews on Newegg, the BeyondTV is oem version with limited features. The good news is according to several reviewers the card is capable of QAM in Linux with MythTV. Only one person have indicated that this card is working for them in XP64 (I'm not sure if it's valid review). I just pulled the trigger because at least it'll work in Linux and possibly XP64.

Yeah, I saw a customer review who said the OEM only supports wmv, to record in mpeg you have to upgrade the software to full version.

I bought one of these last month, and it works perfectly with MythTV using the DVB capture card setting. I used the MythDora distribution; YMMV with another method of installing. I didn't use the analog TV capture, but there is also a setting for that.

I did not get the remote to work with MythTV, however, so I use a wireless keyboard to control it.

Thus tuner gets a "nod" from many reviewers around the net.
It is much less expensive than the ATI 650. That's why I picked this over the 650.
Hope to get it in time for NFL playoffs season.

Chadder, some reviews on Newegg say yes it will do QAM though it is not advertised... I am hoping for it as well, but not going to be dissapointed if it does not.

Don't forget to select the free shipping(7-9 day), the default is 5-7 day, which will most likely be messed up due to Christmas anyway.

Also the rebate dies on 12/22 so not many days left to order...

Im seeing that you have to use MYTH TV to get the QAM support in the drivers it seems.

I bought a KWorld USB TV tuner with a rebate earlier this year. Mailed in the rebate on time but no news after 4 months. Luckily I had photocopies of everything and I just emailed them the scan of the receipt and rebate form. The rebate was sent the next day.

Yeah. This one is SD TV but it would be a nice addition as a 2nd or dual tuner for those with MCE2005.

Ok, I need some advice, I currently have a HTPC hooked up to my HDTV and I do some recording of analog tv with my MCE150 card.

I have Comcast digital/HDTV service but we normally don't watch anything else in HD other than the local channels.

If I am reading this right I could:

1. take my Ccomcast service down to basic
2. attach this puppy right next to my MCE 150
3. Use BTW to control them both with OTA HD coming through the KWorld.

Forgive a noob's ignorance but would this work with a DISH receiver? I looked at the manufacturer details page, but they mention only OTA and cable signals.

Church, Essentially yes, BUT that yes is only if you are in an area where you can recieve all of your "local" stations with an antenna. you can use this site to help you determine if you want to try it:

Click choose an antenna then enter your zip code and it will tell you what kind of antenna you will need or how far you are from the broadcast antennas.


Lurking, kind of. This card does have an S-video input that you can use to take the signal from your existing DishNetwork reciever. This would allow you to record programs, however you would have to manually change the stations on the DishNetwork reciever for this to work. At this time there is no PCI card that you can install in your computer that will legally replace the DishNetwork reciever.

Folks this tuner is guaranteed to work as an OTA HDTV tuner.
In order to receive QAM ie SAT or Cable, you need to monkey around with its software and YMMV applies big time here. Just a warning.
