I am very open to any suggestions. But here is what I think abiout each card.
The Radeon LE:
Boasts a great performance with anisotropic filtering, but does not with FSAA (both 2x and 4x). It has a small TnL engine, but that probably will not help until a bit further down the road. It requires some tweaking (enabling Hyper-Z and OCing it) to perform at a top-notch level. Although, there is the offchance that the particular one I get won't OC to meet my standards.
The Kyro II:
A solid card strait out of the box; needs no tweaking to perform at a high-quality level. Works great in all games (with the exception of a few, but it is still playable), especially Serious Sam and Evolva, where it shines against it's higher priced competetors. It has great performance with FSAA, and with TC, it can use trilinear filtering without a large performance hit. However, it suffers a 50% performance hit with anisotropic filtering. But as long as I can use trilinear, I'll be happy (anything to get rid of that horrid bilinear band ).
I'm more leaning towards the Kyro II. Please post any opinions/suggestions.
Thanks,
A~
