Kyro II vs. Geforce 1 sdr and Matrox G550??

I was using Geforce sdr and now is thinking about getting another videocard, I considered about getting a GTS before but I ain't a heavy gaming person and hence Kyro II or mx400 are both pretty cheap, I might take either one of them. the question is, how much performace plus I will get and how's its 2D quality. And compare to the new Matrox G550 also...

The MX 400 wouldnt really provide a large performance boost over you GeForce SDR. It's a small boost but nothing special. The Kyro 2 will definitely provide a pretty decent performance boost.
The G550 would be slower in games then your current card, but it offers the best 2D visual quality money can buy, along with the best Dual head support. If your not into gaming it's one hell of a nice card.
The MX400... well I'd pass on it, the Kyro is faster and offers better 2D for only slightly more money.
The Kyro 2 is far from being a 'great' card for 2D, and is definitely in no way comparable to the G550 but it's decent enough for most regular needs and has pretty good 3D image quality and excellent performance for the money.

The Kyro II is about 60%+ faster then the Geforce SDR at high res, 32bit and probably 70-80% faster with FSAA and 32bit. The 2d isn't quite G550 quality (but then what other board is appart from the other Matrox boards) but its very good, better then most Geforce boards and around the same as Radeon.

I'd go with the Kyro II. My experiances with it have been quite good.
