LA times poll showing

Yet Kerry led Bush by 51% to 44% nationally in a two-way matchup, and by 48% to 42% in a three-way race, with independent Ralph Nader drawing 4%.

linky

fails to mention that those polled included 38% Democrats, 25% Republicans!

the real story should be that Kerry didn't do better with the poll stacked in his favor like that!

That's typical LA Times polling. I recall them releasing a poll that had Bustamante with a 13 point lead over Schwarzenegger just a couple weeks before the CA. Governor recall election.

The LA Times is a joke.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So I suppose if you polled a room full of Repuglicans, they'd show Bush ahead of Kerry?

Interesting...

I'm a tad confused here, when you grab a random sample you're not supposed to know which party they're in am I right?

Where you choose to get the randomo sample can have a large impact on the outcome.

Once again, I agree but even if it was completely random - every state, nationality, income level, etc covered - isn't there still a good chance the republican/democrat ratio would not be 50/50?

With the numbers so close and months away, what does it matter if Bush or Kerry are ahead? None of it is relevent at this point.

fox news doesnt do there own polls and its common knowledge that LA Times is a far left newspaper. They routinely editorialize on the front page. When they published those outrageous gropping allegations one week before the recall election they lost ~1000 subcriptions. LA Times is the least objective paper ive ever read, and ive read the sf chronicle and oakland tribune for various time periods.

Winston-Smith is right of course. Way too early to tell and the LA Time might get Cali right, but I wouldn't trust them beyond that.

Trust me on this. Among registered voters who will actually go to the polls, Bush is leading. I have a family full of conservatives. They will vote if it's the day before Armageddon, and even if the mailman has gone home. Do not even think for a nonosecond that Kerry is going to win...unless Bush keeps doing the same things he's been doing for the last year. In which case, Kerry might sneak in a win.

I believe that among two possibilities, the worst will always happen. That way I'm prepared.

First of all the LA Times is a pro Liberal newspaper from California. Nothing but a bunch of liberal celebrities blowing communistic magical sprinkles.

You can slant a poll just by asking the right questions or only asking them in liberal cities. What makes the LA Times this great Non-Biased example of a pollster? They are in La La Land!!!

First of all it is a bit early for a poll.

Second of all Neither Kerry nor Bush have picked a firm running mate for vice president. I am not so sure Bush will keep the current vice president or even if the vice president can live through another term of office.

Let them pick a running mate and then have a poll. The best poll on earth is the voting booth!
