Hi guys, don't mean to steal the thread, but since you guys were mentioning RAID and such, I thought I mention this drive I'm looking at Western Digital My Book Pro II WDG2TP10000N 1TB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 / IEEE 1394a / 1394b External Hard Drive

OK I'm done!

It's not a NAS drive though. These Lacie provide network support.

~1000GB for $275.

I remember when I paid $400 for 80GB (40GB/$200 X 2)

Was state-of-art technology at the time...LOL

In the early 1980's I paid $1250 for a 5MB drive.

what file system does this use? I need to store DVD images.

Checking LaCie's site doesn't shine any light on the answer other than the fact that the mini does NTFS and the BigDisk is supposedly the bigger version of this. I pulled the trigger on this and will have it in-hand tomorrow and can check then and post back unless others have already done so

Currently DVD images and other media are kept on my rig in my sig below but I wanted something to offload everything to. If the LaCie won't allow NTFS, I'll be using it as media storage serving content throughout the house. I, like you, wanted to store DVD images but will be satisfied if it won't. If I can just get the mp3's, TV shows/cartoons and divx on the LaCie that will suffice for now. I'm currently storing around 50 images along with the other media but could store 200 or so if the LaCie will just hold the other media.

Could you please transfer a 10+ gig file for me?

Thanks

My tracking information shows a delivery of Wednesday but I'll create a rar tonight of a few .iso's and make a 10gb file and transfer that one and let you know when I get it in.

Did the 10 gig file transfer properly?
