Your so absolutely right about a conspiracy... The lakers are not that good of a team to win without the help of the refs. I mean Shaq isnt the best center to play the game and Kobe isnt the best guard in the league. They have absolutely no chance of winning without the refs. I mean the refs helped them sweep all the teams so the league could make less money on the lakers by having less games not to mention make less money by not having the other teams market play more games at their home stadium.

You never respect teams that have to fight hard with underrated rosters. i.e. Rockets (93-94 and 94-95) nor did you give a damn about the Spurs.

The Spurs were arrogant when they said they still feel like they were the champions since they didnt have Duncan in the playoffs last year. They got exactly what they deserved.

Last year, Laker vs Pheonix. Penny Hardaway got whacked hard going to the basket in front of 2 refs. If he sunk the 2 free throws, Lakers would have lost and the series might have turned out very differently.

First of all, I'm not a bandwagon jumper.. I've been a Lakers fan for quite a while. I didn't care much for the Bulls when they were winning, and why should I care for the Spurs? They got their ass kicked by the Lakers.

Shaq gets fouled alot while he's under the basket and a lot of it isn't even called because he's so damn big. You take some of those should be fouls on another player and they'd fall apart.

Major props to AI and the Sixers for getting there. The sixers may put the big whiteboy on Shaq during the game, letting Motumbo cover Grant; allowind him to &quot;help&quot; on Shaq, also freeing him up for more rebounds AND allowing him to help when Kobe drives (if he was guarding Shaq the entire time, he couldn't leave him to defend the the basket against Kobe lest he risk getting posterized by the Diesel)

Larry Brown is a great defensive mind. He will mix things up and I hope for an interesting series. Lakers should win in 5 or 6 (sans refs you manturnips!)

Doug Collins (Laker homer)is an a-hole. Same goes for Bill Walton (Laker Homer)and Steve Jones (Laker Hater). Homers go home, this game is for gamers only.

Has it ever occured to you that every team has it's own fan base, and no matter who wins, the winning team will always have it's own fans. I've been shaq fan since the days he was in orlando. They got swept by rockets back then, but what can I do, you win some you lose some. Then shaq moved to LA, and LA became my favorite team. Once again, they lost a couple of years in a row, until the last year that is. Now, Lakers are the best team in the league, so I'm just enjoying myself. As for the baseball, yes I am Yankes fan. But then again, I'm from New York (btw, even thought I'm not knicks fan, I always cheer for them). Ok, so it happens that both of the teams I'm cheering for are the strongest teams in their leagues. What do you expect me to do? Should I just change my opinion just to please you? Btw, you are probably one of the people who say lakers/yankees should lose on purpose, just to make it fair. Well, guess what? You aren't in kindergarden anymore (at least I hope so), when your parents would lose purposely just to make you feel good. If your team can't win, by all means continue supporting them. However, don't accuse the fans of winning teams, just because they are more lucky than you.

It is truly in the best interests of the NBA (and NBC and advertisers) that this series go a long as possible. One might even say that the refs will do what they can to make it happen.

I agree with much of what you have to say, Alansan.

Since it's not real basketball anymore, you'll have a hard time convincing any NBA/WWF fans, though. It's not basketball, folks. It's 5 sets of 1 on 1, and to make it worse, the superstars get 85% of the fouls their way.

It's not just the Lakers. And anyone HAS to admit - Shaq and Kobe have a lot of talent. We'll never know just how good they play basketball, though, because once Shaq left LSU and Kobe left high school, their careers as basketball players were over.

To the extent I can stomach the &quot;sport&quot;, I do enjoy seeing teams like the Spurs, last year's Pacers, etc. win as a team. But even they get &quot;superstar calls&quot; with their premier players.

At least Tim Duncan and David Robinson bring a little class to that zoo they call the NBA.
