dude, that makes you feel better, then go right ahead believing it.
adelman is the most whiny crybaby coach i've ever seen.
vlade is a disgrace to the nba, pouting on the floor after the last foul and saying horry's shot was luck
webber cries about every single damn foul or no-foul
the only way you can say the kings don't whine or whine less than the lakers is if haven't been listening to their comments. i've read almost every article about this playoff series and it's always been the kings crying and bitching.
Webber: Someone told me we had no chance tonight (game 6)
Vlade: Why did they make us come here if they were going to be like that? (game 6)
Adelman: 20 fouls vs. 4? blah blah blah
contrast to:
Kobe: That's the way the game is, you just have to play through it (game 5)
hmmmmmmmm
Well, for one thing, I honestly dont need to feel better about anything. Though I *am* a laker-hater, I really dont care about the NBA. Yeah, that sounds contradicting, but all I really want to see is exciting basketball. I see it in college hoops, I see it in some pro teams (philly, dallas, and the kings (more so than LA anyways), I do NOT see it in the lakers. Fine, so now I wont watch the finals. no skin off my back. hockey's more exciting anyways
I havent been following the threads, so I dont know if you're a big lakers fan, a self-proclaimed "unbiased" viewer, or what... but I DO know that, from reading your post I'm quoting now, you are clearly making rash generalizations...adelman and vlade biggest babies, etc-dude, have you seen, to name one, portland? incidently, the portland series was one in which I enjoyed watching the lakers win, since portland's crying is much more amusing than any kings crying, percieved or real
As for the quotes-you're referencing quotes from after game 6, a terribly officiated game by all accounts. I dont know if you watch PTI on espn, but, as a washington area resident, I have the opportunity to read some of michael wilbon's columns. Check
this one out; he makes some great points, and he tends to be unbiased and, more importantly, down to earth.
So some people paraphraise(sp?) badly. I want to see a quote that is shaq complining about specifically hack a shaq. good luck finding one, maybe if you go to some quotes from 2 years ago
you're right-i would have trouble finding specific shaq quotes in which he complains about "hack a shaq". however, though I'm not a big fan of watching the games during the season, I seem to recall a number of instances in which shaq got fed up of getting fouled and actually went after the players fouling him. something about an overhand right that, had it landed, would have knocked some guy (brad miller?) out cold. my point is, his teammates still complain for him about the way opponents play him, and he does his share of complaining and, if he feels nothing's changing, taking matters into his own hands. does he use the term "hack-a-shaq"? no, i dont think so. does he complain about the way he's played more than most people in the league? definitely. (do i agree that he IS played differently, since, for lack of a better word, he's a monstrosity who cant be played straight up by 99% of the guys in the league? yep )
