Odom wanted too much. He'll go to Dallas and be a starter but have no chance of getting another ring. Ariza and Odom are to stupid for leaving LA and not taking less money. They could have gotten 2 rings which many players can't even get one.

Sounds like Ariza is only making 500k per year over what the lakers offered. Maybe it was only a 2 or 3 year deal?

Odom's not going to another team. No one can offer him anything close to what the lakers can, and if needed, he and his agent will put their tail between the legs and show up on Buss' doorstep at the crack of dawn and with Buss' favorite Starbucks drink in one hand, and a pen in the other hand.

And more than likely get an offer for less money.

Easy: Portland.

Can offer up to 9.9 million this year and 16 the next and so on. Others can easily afford Odom.

The difference of which should come directly out of his agent's pocket.

I don't know what kind of advice he's given odom, but $9-10m for 3-4 years in this climate is a jackpot. So many are signing for the $6m midlevel exception, including AI for a 1 year contract, who made $20m this year.

Cus no one wants AI. The last two teams he was with were glad to lose him.

They just signed Millsap to an offer sheet at $10m, are you sure about that?

I don't know about that...he did pretty well with Denver but they had a chance to get a better floor general in Billups. He probably wan't disliked much in detroit either until the bench situation. Apparently he's giving up his stance on that tho (atleast clips are going to make sure of it before signing him.)

Uhh yeah i'm sure about that because Utah is now trading boozer ASAP in the next day or two to clear cap space to match the offer sheet.

If ever the day should come where I turn down 9 million dollars a year I want someone from ATOT to come and slap me upside the head.

Who is he going to start over? Dirk Nowitzki has the power foward spot locked down and Odom is not a true center and the mavs just signed The Matrix for small foward. He would have to come off the bench.

Maybe not per year, but some teams might offer him more years.

5 years at $7mil per year = $35 mil (plus in Dallas, Texas there is no state income tax)
3 years at $9mil per year = $27mil (plus California shaft you up the bum income tax)

At his age he's not getting another contract worth much after this one.
