I agree with LTC post since I am old school but still not comfortable with my judgement.

The car sold for over $115k but less than 130k. Car was only few days old and 3 miles if that.

The car in question sold for >$115K? Best of luck to the buyer I guess...

You can buy a low mileage Gallardo for the same price. Gets you the same Lambo badge for a lot less trouble. Or, for a bit more than the $60k figure, you can buy a "high" mileage Gallardo.

It doesn't make sense for anyone to be that hard up yet be able to afford that much and accept the losses on a salvaged title.

They don't show the front of the Enzo, but I am not sure there can be enough front end damage to make that not a steal at 300k.

Would you guys buy a flooded (salt and fresh water) 2015 Huracan for $60k ? What is the cost to repair this? Car flooded half of the car for 5 days.

If you insist on buying some elses trash, you are looking at a COMPLETE tear down and restoration. You will need a direct line to the Factory as you are going to be ordering a lot of parts and staring at lots of electrical diagrams

Another lambo also flooded that was driven through the flood? What kind of damage will this have? I feel this one will be worst because potentially the water enters the motor. This one is fresh water only.

If electricity runs through it...you might as well toss it

That is because the electrics can get ruined (think computers, wiring looms) and the interiors will be damaged (think smells, rot). Water damaged cars are good for mechanical and body parts which make them great donors because there's not too much physical damage.

lambo is keeping quiet on the cost; maybe a phone call would give some results.

i am curious if there are a lot of electronics involve? Schematics and electrical diagrams?

Seem straight forward.

$130 bucks for one harness for rear plate lights, sensors and markers!

You haven't even touched on the real electrics. Try a new computer, CAN bus, central harness which doesn't even have a price.

Is a flooded car necessarily junk?

Pretty much, yes. There are some obvious problems, as you can imagine. If water gets access to one of the cylinders, either through the air intake or the exhaust system, that cylinder can fill with water. Then, when the engine is started, that cylinder will hydro-lock (water can't be compressed like air can), and everything connected to the cylinder will break or bend.

Best part

So basically, if a car is flooded, and it's your only transportation, you may be able to use it. But it's bound to cause you problems. Think about it. Insurance companies HATE to spend money. If they could fix a car and put it back on the road, they'd do it in a New York minute. And even THEY won't bother fixing flooded cars.

i'm no scientist ... (joke) but i think 60k is good value.

If it was a good value it would be instantly sold to someone with the ability to fix the issues. Some "insider" with connections to the shop or insurance company would hear about it and snap it up. But, of course, it is not a good value.

It is a buy for a sucker that doesn't understand the cost/effort to get it properly repaired.
