Lame, just won poker at a frat rush, prize was a DVD

Last night I split the pot for first and second for $60 at Theta Xi, and tonight I spent 3 hours of my life winning a bloody DVD at Tau Epsilon Phi. Granted, free stuff is always nice, but come on, that just screams cheap, if I was actually thinking of joining I wouldn't be now.

btw the movie is Animal House...which isn't all that bad.

Frats had iPods for givewaways. If they're giving away DVDs, that's sad.

Our frat is dirt poor and at least we give away cheap crap, but it's still more than a DVD. I expect most REAL FRATS that have expensive-as-hell dues that can afford a house to give away huge prizes like iPods and what not. Otherwise, I wouldn't play.

LoL, I'm rush chair and our budget is.. $350 ? Hahaha $170 of that went into flyers. Another $50 of that is for pizza and another $50 for desserts.

How big is your frat? I lived at one for a few months over the summer and they were buying booze all the time for the rush parties. Then again all 60 guys in the house put $200/quarter towards the social budget.
