No way. Santa Fe and Taos are great, and there's a ton of gorgeous scenery in the state. Oklahoma, OTOH, takes the lamest, ugliest parts of New Mexico and spreads them out to fill an entire state, plus it's overrun by tornadoes.

I'm sorry to say it, but outside of Austin, which I love, Texas is almost completely unappealing and culturally stunted, and none of its cities (other than Austin) compare favorably to Chicago, the Twin Cities, or Madison, among any number of other places in the "non-descript dirtball" we call the midwest.
