His fight against Manny sucked, his fight against Canelo was perfection, He was in there with the clear 2nd best dude on the planet in that weight class. And he made him look like a lost sparring partner. I understand some people love to see slug fests. But to see Floyd shut Canelo's shit completely down was just beautiful. The level of skill that took was insane.
Exactly. To fight these guys and barely get hit is Matrix-level sh!t, a dimension far for what McGregor can bring.

That said, I expect McGregor to fight differently. For example, Mayweather's famous left shoulder roll, I expect McGregor to pound his left shoulder, arm, and elbow, to a blistering pulp if possible, much the same way mma fighters will constantly kick the crap out of opponents shin and thigh to render them useless. He probably has other plans like that as well, particularly in the clinch. If he's able to do things like that without opening himself up too much for counters, it could take a painful toll.

We've had fights like this before.

Anyone remember when Rocky took on Hulk Hogan? You had the boxer against the prowrestler.
Ali Inoki would be the better example since that was a shoot. The northeast also got the worked Andre the Giant vs Chuck Cepner match on the undercard. Wrestlemania 24 had Mayweather Big Show where Vince wanted Mayweather to be the babyface. Ronda is currently involved in a angle so we might be seeing her in the squared circle this April.

A waste of time watching. Nothing happens except some baseball sliding kicks by Inoki and a couple jabs by Ali, all over 15 rounds.

Actually Mayweather will lose by TKO!!
Unlike Roberto Duran who said to the ref -- No Mas!!
When the 2nd round is ready to start Mayweather will b nowhere to be found!!
He will be found hiding under the ring. Cowering in fear of the monster he unleashed!!

https://theundefeated.com/features/before-mayweather-mcgregor-there-was-ali-inoki/

Inoki kicked Ali about 60 times, cutting a shin and raising hematomas on the back of his legs.

. . .

The boxer’s legs had been so battered from Inoki’s kicks that the champ reportedly fainted in the elevator in his Tokyo hotel from the pain. Making matters worse, Ali ignored the advice of his camp and went ahead with a three-day visit to Korea to box a couple of exhibitions for U.S. servicemen stationed at bases there.

“Ali’s leg was all bloodied up,” said Gene Kilroy, Ali’s former business manager, who sat at ringside for the bout. “When we got back to his hotel room, I wrapped his legs in ice. I taped ice to his legs, but he’d take it off. When we got back to L.A., I called a friend who picked Ali up as soon as our plane landed. We went straight to the UCLA Medical Center, where the doctor discovered he had blood clots. He said that if we hadn’t wrapped his legs in ice, he might have died.”

Ali was in the hospital for two weeks. An infection from a cut on Ali’s knee was reportedly so serious that doctors briefly considered amputating the leg.

Fight prediction:

Mayweather is going to do his thing, sniping and slipping as usual. McGregor is going to try to rough him up with volume, his only choice. No way he can play the counter game with Mayweather.

Maidana used the same tactic, the only thing different is McGregor is going to run down his fuel tank much quicker, probably by the 4th round. That's when Mayweather will pour it on. Once you burn out against Mayweather, it's over. It won't be pretty from there.

Any of you guys buying this fight? I'm considering it. Beats going to a crowded sports bar and dealing with that mess plus traffic in the rain. $100 seems steep. But I'm a boxing fan so the undercard would offer some value to me.

$100 to watch a sporting event on a television (which you also pay for the TV and with cable). I'm pretty sure I'd rather pay to do just about anything else.

Can't you just go to a bar that is playing it and spend $100 on good booze?

I don't have cable. Netflix and a free hbo now account since I have an att unlimited phone plan. You can buy the ppv without a cable provider. I don't drink and I don't do much else that costs money. All my hobbies are free minus the equipment I've already paid for (bicycling, weight lifting, basketball). Figured I'd spoil myself.

FVCK NO, if I cant watch for free on Kodi, I just wont watch it. Not even sure if I would download it after its over, I guess it depends if someone got knocked out or at least a TKO. Have any casinos close showing it?

Yes I pay for tv service already, but I don't care. Its an event. Monthly bill is like $250 as is.

You can go out, its between $30-$50 around here per person at Hooters, other local bars. If you have a few friends go, suddenly you're paying over $100 that way too. So we just ordered it, her father in law is coming over. Grilling out, socializing, etc. Plus we have a 8 month old, so makes going out a little tougher.

Its not for everyone. People spend money different ways. Im sure some people think spending $700 on a video card is silly too.

Win or lose, these two guys will make at least :

Mayweather $200-$300 million USD.
Conor $100 milion USD.

Good payday indeed.

At least a $700 video card will give you years of use, plus you can sell it later and get some money back.

Just tested my stream, found one that works on Kodi, at least for now, you never know when the PPV starts. I have Fox, so since nothing else is on, I am sort of watching the prelims.

What time does the fight start? Not the pre-fights, the Connor fight.
