main games at the may 28-29 LAN was UT2004 and battlefield 1942: desert combat

i saw a few counterstrike games still flowing around... and i'm sure the interest in far cry will grow quickly

we tried internet access in the past.... with 70 people on the cable connection and 1 person using filesharing our bandwidth was cut to nothing so we decided that internet access was a bad idea

the group attempts to have the most up to date patches of every game that we intend on playing at the event ready for anyone to get

I used to live out in the cornfields for 4 years (Champaign-Urbana) but I live in St. Louis now... but work out in the cornfields (metro east)... Is Mt. Vernon a town you have to worry about getting lynched in, if you're not a good ol' boy/bubba? Sorry have to ask cuz I've had some bad luck in some little towns in the middle of nowhere, Illinois, where the Super Wal-Mart was the centerpiece of the town.

My grandparents (moms side) are from Effingham. Once we stopped there for food and my moms cousin just happened to be at the same McDonalds as us. yea i stay away from there because i figure i might be related to that hot chick im hitting on.

no... no need to worry about being lynched for any reason in mt. vernon... they already have all kinds there and i think they'd lynch their own first.... it's a town of about 22,000 people basically surrounded by cornfields for miles upon miles in almost every direction... the super wal-mart is A centerpiece in the town but they also have a "mall" and an "outlet mall" though i'm not sure that's what they should actually be called.. the best store in the mall is hibbet hahha

all of our events are byoc ....

it's just easier for us for everyone to bring their own rigs... and cheaper too

Are you going to install the games that people lack on their PC's? How do you feel about laptops?

sharing and installation of games on the non-rightful owner's pc is bound to happen and usually does... however MTVLAN does not provide these files (but someone else usually will)

laptops are ok and allowed but bringing a laptop is up to you... i see about 5 lappy's per LAN.. maybe more

actually... slowest PC in use hasnt been thought of yet by us.. i cant believe it hasnt... i'll talk to the guys about it...

bawls will be awarded as a prize for something yet to be determined but not be like the newegg.com goodies drawing

there will be a UT2004 tournament that will probably result in some bawls winnings

no other contests are planned at this time but it's still early

we will also be selling bawls at the event
