Lan Party? what to do...

so. im going to have a lan party on the 25th - 26th hopefully it will be successfull right now its just a couple or few...(like 6-8) coming and i just want to know what i should do... i have a router and my friend is bringing a 14port switch so i think that will be enuf. tables are set we are going to have around 3-4 those long foldable tables. and if anyone really wants to come ... u can talk to me and i can see if its possible... keep in mind we are 16-18 yr olds. in upstate NY...

also what are the latest games that everyone plays @ lans?

yep

any time we have ever tried to have a lan party between a group of friends we always end up getting messed up and not touching our computers the entire night

My friends and I just had a 24 hour LAN party this past weekend, great times...

Just be sure to have many extensions cords connected to various circuts in the house, since you can easily blow a fuse if you have several PCs on one circut, not to mention monitors etc..

Battlefied 1942 + Road to Rome was great @ 4AM... lol

There's also Jedi Knight 2, which is loads of fun.

Other than, electrical sockets, foods (friends should obviously pitch in, at ours we ordered about 180 wings, plus pizza), games you'll be set.

Just a suggestion.. pick 4 or 5 games and /thats it/. Make sure everyone has them installed when they come. Keep it varied.. some TMFW (twitchest motherfacker wins), some slower RTS, maybe a racer. And thats it. Make a plan and stick to the plan as much as possible. (Things may come up but just roll with the punches and make sure to keep things moving.)

Having a list of games that long will only make for confusion and hours of passing CDs around waiting for the games to install.
