OK, at this point it should be obvious the little bitch is just trolling.
Please stop responding to him.

I won't quote so that I don't appear to be supporting of any members comments here (or in non-support of such comments), but I do have this to say:

I am sure that, after you factor in past performance results, his finishing position at that point, the fatigue and mental dullness that follows intense competition, etc etc... he meant no disrespect to any individual in question.
He was, most likely, very very pissed at himself and feeling inadequate - any top-level competitor who doesn't hit the podium, after having been on the podium many times, feels weak and ineffectual, to a degree. I would not argue he felt like a piss poor human or anything, but after the glory he has had, I am sure he was most unpleased with himself with his finishing position. His own attitude was likely "this was a worthless finish" - any hardcore competitor will likely state such, especially after having achieved far better in years past.
As someone who is very competitive, I would be very upset and most unpleased with a seventh place finish. To receive any kind of award for that? I'd feel embarrassed and undeserving of any recognition. That's the competitor's heart and mindset.
Now add on to that, the degree of physical and mental exhaustion one would feel after enduring/concluding such a competition, and you'll easily get a man who appears to ignore even his most cherished loved ones, if he is making an earnest attempt to get back to a very specific spot so that he can relax, stretch, hydrate, and get some life back in that body. Intentional? Most likely that was not the case at all.

Comments in vid say right after that video ends he actually acknowledges his daughter and son...

Also, to all the haters: 17th place is basically failure. No one goes, "oh wow, you got 17th place. You're so pro." People don't give a shit. Top 3 in a big competition is all that matters.

LOL. Coming from you. Mr. Last Place in life.

What's even funnier are all of your excuses for not working out and exercising. Wuss.

I don't think he was disrespecting his daughter but I did have a question about the finish - is it common for athletes to try to beat someone at the very end like that? This is not the TdF where there are sprint finishes. The guy just sped up to say he beat Armstrong by a second. Is that normal?

Yeah, at the end with everyone cheering, you get an energy boost, I always find myself sprinting by a few people to the finish. Plus, you want to look good when photographers are taking your pic.

U idiots, this is an Ironman triathlon

1. Swim 2.4 miles
2. Bike for 112 miles
3. Run 26.2 miles Marathon.

Imagine biking 112 miles, getting off and then still have to run for 26 miles, not mentioning the swimming part. Give the guy some slack. This is a great achievement for anyone.

I know if I was in that competition I'll just be happy with the fact that I finished.

I would feel a little self conscious running past Lance Armstrong. Not that it matters at that point. For Lance it was 6th place that turned into 7th and the opposite for the guy who beat him (got 6th instead of 7th). I can understand if I was going for a medal position from 4th place. And yeah, LA is just another guy and if you can beat him great but what difference did it really make in this place? Nobody is going to say "Hey Chuck, you beat Lance Armstrong? You're the man! You are clearly a superior athlete."

Lance is a competitor of the most elite form. They HATE to lose at ANYTHING.

Unless you've been around such ultra-intense people (especially people who've had epic success), you can't imagine how they feel inside and when they let it out, you don't want to be anywhere near the vicinity.

The guy is obviously fuming inside and wants to be by himself in his own thoughts after the race.

Now because he's a competitor, doesn't give him free rights to be a douche...especially to his daughter.

Like all of us, he has some growing up to do and it's as evolutionary a process for him as anyone else.

I would be happy if I didn't die. And I'm being totally serious. I would most likely drown if I tried swimming two and a half miles. And if by some miracle I finished that and wasn't a quivering mass of goo by the end of a hundred mile bike ride, there is absolutely no way I could go out and run a marathon.

Anyone who finishes a full ironman is a badass by any definition.

More than likely the guy didn't even know it was Lance Armstrong and I doubt even if he did, he would think about anything you just said.

I'm just about to finish the race, everyone is cheering, I'm sprinting and just focusing on the finish line. If I see someone ahead of me, I'm not going to let him beat me.

People make such a big deal about everything posted on the internet. Comment fields on news and video websites have turned everyone into gossiping drama queens.

This.

Lance is a giant douche, but this vid is a non-issue.
