Yet they want special, and now 'protected' bike lanes?

or cyclists can ride on the street like they are legally allowed to and drivers can share the road like they are legally required to and ya'll can fucking deal with it.

I was in Manhattan 2 years ago when a pack of bikers like this rode through - probably the same event. It was nothing short of a mile-long parade it lasted so long. We were already late for a party we were headed to and they prevented anyone from crossing the street. They rode through red lights and were even escorted by police. Between the noise and the display of hand gestures that said "you're gonna have to wait for us", can't help but hate what a nuisance they were.

As for this group - if what started it was the brake checking that resulted in the collision, I'm all for more bikers getting run over. Pack mentality is never a positive.

And it's comical that a biker caught this on video damning the group. Anyone else catch another biker at 4:35 whipping out their ipad to get a pic/video? HAHAHAHA.

I'm a cyclist and I'm not stupid enough to ride in traffic. Cyclists who ride in traffic are only doing it to shove it down the throats of motorists and deserve to be squashed into the pavement.

or maybe it's because cyclists can't ride on sidewalks and riding FRAP is not safe, and thus taking the lane as cyclists are legally allowed to do is the safest option. just a thought, your state/city laws may vary.

Question, Can the race card be used here?

No. Do you seriously have to ask that? Just because an idiot posting those comments happens to be black, doesn't represent all black people. I do not like to think Honey Boo Boo represents me because she is white like I am.

Guy should've ran over more of them. Only mistake he made was leaving enough bikers standing to beat his ass down.

If he lives in a free state and packed, the punkasses that smashed his door and attacked him would be dead. Perfectly justified.

But are you always carrying a gun in your car? I'm pretty sure in my state I can't have a gun in my car unless there's a damn good reason for it. I'm not sure the "I'm headed to the gun range" reason would work. Not sure how Texas works...I suppose you probably can carry a gun in your car there at all times. Which is why this type of thing would be much less likely to happen there...

Down here, if you have a concealed license, you can carry with you on your person and car and almost anywhere with a few exceptions such as Federal buildings, schools, etc.

so i'm confused. one of the riders got killed from it? at least that's what i got from the comments via the instagram link. god damn was it hard to decipher what the fuck they were saying.

i really hope that's not the SUV driver(i thought he just had a few black eyes etc). it's really too bad the ones that deserve it(my thoughts point to almost all of them) didn't even get a scratch. also, please try that any where that allows you to carry. i'm not saying i would hold it down in that situation but a gun sure would either make things twice as bad or a hell of a lot better. he had no chance with that many people.

You are arguing semantics here.

The bottom line is that a bicyclist who wants fair use of the road pays far FAR less in 'vehicle use' taxes compared to a driver (or motorcyclist, for that matter).

Yet they want special, and now 'protected' bike lanes?

I live and work in the same city. I also own a vehicle but commute to work by bicycle. So, I pay more than my fair share of taxes. Get bent and nice job derailing the thread.

Exactly, retrofitting roads to make them even more accommodating for a the smallest portion of roadway users, of which don't even pay for registration to use the roadways, is not exactly a cost effective provision for anywhere. I DO like bike lanes and have an extra painted strip added to a new roadway when it's being made doesn't add really anything to the cost. However, redoing old roadways is just not so simple a thing to do, nor cheap.

Particularly for dense urban areas it's cheaper and more effective than adding more vehicle or mass transit capacity. Looking at the modes you'll see walking/cycling/transit increasing and driving decreasing in recent years.

What most likely happened what the SUV driver endangered the bikers earlier on. Probably did something really unsafe and arrogant. That's usually why bikers get upset. Car drivers driving stupid or reckless makes the car a weapon.

They wouldn't have slowed him down for no reason at all. Doesn't even look like a break check just that they were all stopping the SUV. You'd be shaken up and upset too if someone had prior endangered your life. People get killed constantly from clueless or reckless car drivers. Of course the riders were bothered by what ever the SUV guy did. If someone had done something that almost killed you or your friends you would too.

They would not have stopped him otherwise. Then he used his SUV as a weapon and assaulted them. Well of course you're going to follow him when he tries to flee the scene. He could have killed someone. Honestly it needs to happen more when people endanger others life on the road. Will be the last time they do it. The SUV driver really got off easy for what he did.

Any type of close call on a motorcycle can mean you almost lost your life. And just a second or foot difference and you could have died. After something like that happens and you were near getting killed from some fool in a car not paying attention or risking your life let me tell you the adrenaline gets going.
