He no longer participates. He stopped posting in CPU when he realized he was the last remaining Cyrix fanboy.
OMG Cyrix! You just triggered a memory from the 90's. I think that used to be a CPU brand and it really sucked.

I thought it was intriguing although never owned one. Like AMD chips of the time its FPU was weak yet ALU calculation was decent especially for the price. I laugh because my friends talked crap about how hot Cyrix chips ran and they consumed all of 20W maybe and here we are with 100W+ chips.

Heck's Angels.

Had a minor run in with a dozen guys in new-ish leathers on nicer bikes. Nothing really, but it reminded me of a story. My friend was getting into it with 3 guys in leathers that wanted to beat up his wimpish friend. I stayed back but my friend tells them he'll beat them up and they pointed out there were 3 of them and 1 of him. That's when I stepped forward. Boy, they backed down fast. My friend pointed out they must be tough wearing all that leather, they said they wore it to look cool and that they weren't really tough. lol. Only impresses the civilians.

I am curious that if this took place in Texas, instead of NY, would it have been legal for a bystander to shoot the bikers that were in the process of beating Mr. lien?

I do believe Texas' self defense laws allows the defense of others whose lives are in danger.

just wondering....

EDIT: I found it:

Sec. 9.33. DEFENSE OF THIRD PERSON.

A person is justified in using force or deadly force against another to protect a third person if:

(1) under the circumstances as the actor reasonably believes them to be, the actor would be justified under Section 9.31 or 9.32 in using force or deadly force to protect himself against the unlawful force or unlawful deadly force he reasonably believes to be threatening the third person he seeks to protect; and

(2) the actor reasonably believes that his intervention is immediately necessary to protect the third person.

So now the dude that stopped in front of the SUV to start the whole thing said he was looking back to look for a friend. LOL, he is really stupid if he thinks anyone would believe that.

More information about the bikers and how they tried to attack the wife and the baby and only stopped by the bystanders ,at least not all are as cowardice as the bikers and the undercover cops = http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...ture-suv-attack-arraignment-article-1.1478038

Once they trapped the vehicle, the thugs even tried to grab Lien’s wife, who was inside with the couple’s 2-year-old, a witness who’s being hailed as a good Samaritan said Sunday.
“We saw one of them opening the door of the passenger’s side and trying to force the lady out of the car,” said Sergio Consuegra, 52, who jumped between the dad and the bikers.

So the posters that tried to blame Lien and made excuse for the bikers, what do you have to say now?

More videos about the incident with more information = http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/us...s-suv-charges.cnn&hpt=hp_t2&from_homepage=yes

Oh, where are the civil right violation charges against the bikers that attacked Mr. Lien?

The only thing lien did wrong (other then get stuck in traffic), it looks like he had room (from the news video) were he could've cranked it a hard left and slammed it in reverse. Looks like he could've got at least 3 more that way.

I think he shoudl have known that ws going to happen, that those bikers would have attacked him.

I don't condone violence and even if I was being chased, I wouldn't want to hurt those bikers, no matter how jerkish they were acting, but he should have reversed and turned around.

since the undercover officers did nothing to stop the mob assault on Lien, does that make the NYPD liable? Can he sue the police dept and the city of NY for the horrors he went through?

I hope for the drivers safety after the attack, that they do not try to find him and hurt him again or his family. Biker groups can be very gang like. It's a shame he's in NYC where he has no rights and cannot protect and arm himself.

This wouldn't have happened in my state.

They should definitely pursue that.

It would have been best if someone just opened up with a 7.62 on those bikers, thin out the herd a bit. Ah well, as time goes on they will continually die on the road thanks to being Darwin winners, and we can celebrate each and every death.

NY's laws allow this, too; I imagine all states do. One's family members are third persons after all

that guy has more balls then the undercover "cops". fuck them they all should be fired.

Absolutely, I don’t care if they didn’t participate in the chase or attack, they were there involved in a clearly illegal activity.
If they make suck bad choices, how can you trust them to carry a gun or be in a position of public trust.

True. It flabbergasts me that they would choose keeping undercover in order to try to fight a drug war, which I'm sure they're doing as well as they protect the public at large , over saving an innocent family and putting bad people behind bars.

According to the news, the undercover officer wasn’t on duty so it’s not as though he was assigned as undercover to the biker group. None of the other 4 police were undercover, they were all off duty.
