Laptop advice

Hi all. I was wondering if I could get some laptop advice. Needs are for office work, presentations and the like. A friend has a Dell and frankly I wasn't impressed. Plus I understand their award winning service stinks. I was looking at Compaq and Hewlett Packard as it looks like you get alot for the money without breaking the bank. I know Compaq from the days of old left alot to be desired, but have heard they make a good product now. Two models I'm looking at are the HP ze5150 and The Compaq 2110 and Fr130.

i have a laptop for the same purpose and am very happy with it -- Toshiba Satellite. So far it has worked wonders with our presentations and small office jobs.

Best bet is to get an Intel Centrino based laptop if you desire longer battery life and true integrated wireless technology. The Pentium M processor speeds are a lot slower than the Pentium 4 M in terms of GHz, but they are much more efficient and essentially run faster than higher clocked (GHz) processors.

Sorry I don't know much about HP or Compaq stuff, all we every buy here at work are Dell Latitude laptops. Dell's Customer Support has been going downhill lately and it's a trend that I hope they soon address and remedy. It is becoming more and more frustrating for those support people like myself to have to contact them for even the simplist problems like getting a hard drive replaced under warranty.
