Laptop battery charger?

My wife laptop is finally refused to power up after a several months jiggle with the connector.
I am sure it is a problem with the power connector on the laptop. For the past month, she has to turn the cord a certain way to get the laptop power/charge.
I took the laptop apart but cannot get to where the power connector is. I am not a hardware person when it comes to laptop but hey, I did not have any spare part out after putting it all back together.
I do not think bringing it to the shop is an option since this is an old laptop (Aspire 3002 LCi) so I start exploring other options.
1. The external battery look cool but then I realized the problem is at the connector, not the battery.
2. Then I look at the battery charger that I got plugged in for my camera and wonder if there is something for laptop.
I search hight and low but could not find anything. Any ideas?

You can sometimes find external battery chargers for laptops, but there has to be a demand for it. Manufacturers are not going to make them for every model and size of battery under the sun, instead they will just make it for the most popular models.

Also, have you tried a new power cable? Just to be sure that it is internal to the laptop.

If you remove the battery completely, and run only off the A/Cadapter, will it run?

Since most power cables are molded into the A/C adapter - changing usually indicates trying a different adapter.

Internal power connectors on many laptops are their Achilles heel. Most get damaged by careless extraction by users, or tripping over the power cord. Always remove them by grasping the connector itself, not by pulling on the cable.

The toughest internal connectors are Macs and Thinkpads.

It is possible that the internal charging circuit is kaput.

I have never seen an external charger for a laptop battery. Each battery's internal connections are highly proprietary.

I did try it with different power cable but no luck.
Normally, when you plug in the power cable even with laptop turn off, there would be two lights: one amber(charging)/green (full).
If my laptop is not plugged, when I turn if off, there would be no light.
I know right there must a little charge left in the battery because everytime I turn off, the light would be flash and then off since there is not enough juice to on

You did not address the issue of running the laptop with the battery physically removed. That is an essential part of the diagnosis. More important than changing the A/C power cord from charger/adapter to mains.

The DC power plug is bad, so doing all of this will not help. Will need a good tech to replace the plug, or you can try it yourself. You are likely dealing with taking everything apart; this is where your digital camera might come in handy.
