Hi,
One of our user's laptop is getting the battery replacement warning (red X mark on battery icon) and it would not charge. Here are the stuff I tried so far:
- I first tested the 'supposed' bad battery on a different laptop and it seems fine, no X mark and charging up fine.
- Swapped out a different battery (good battery) on the user's laptop and oddly it would just shut down shortly after loading into Windows.
- Put the original battery back in, gave her a new power adapter, now the battery seems to be charging up fine but there still X mark with the replacement warning.
It may be Windows giving false information, or could it be the laptop itself? I find it odd that it would just shut down when I replaced it with a different battery. I'm holding back on buying a brand new battery, anything else I could try?
