It appears the roll of computers in the home has changed somewhat over the last couple of years. My wife and I already have a couple of desktops units in our office that we use for daily for checking email, booking tickets, looking at photos etc.
However.............................
The office is waaaaaaaaaaaay to far away from the living room and kitchen. If we want to show friends and family vacation photos or play mp3s or check the latest weather report we don't want to hike up 2 flights of stairs to the office.
What we are looking for:
Basically a living room/kitchen laptop.
1. The laptop must be able to surf the internet with ease (eg. able to handle movie trailers etc).
2. Perform light MS Office duties in case we decide to take it on a business trip
3. Play mp3's for parties etc.
4. Play World of Warcraft on low/moderate settings.
Our budget is reasonable, I would say mid range (whatever that currently is). We don't want the cheapest laptop that will give us trouble, but we also don't want the most expensive which is more than we would need. I am guessing the $1000 mark seems to be average right now (am I right?)
