I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 8600 and noticed that it sometimes reboots itself randomly. It just shuts right off and restarts itself again. I just unchecked the option so it'll give me the BSOD so I can see what the error is and the last time it rebooted it said something about "Arp1394.sys."
I checked around and this is some info I found out about that file: Arp1394.sys
Provides Address Resolution Protocol (ARP), ARP caching, and Multicast Channel Allocation Protocol (MCAP), which facilitates multicast communication on the 1394 bus.
Can someone point me in the right direction to get rid of this problem. Do I reinstall that file? Or what? I just reinstalled WinXP Pro over the default WinXP Home edition that Dell gave me so don't tell me I gotta do all that again!!
If you guys need more info I'll get back to you in the morning. I'm typing this out real fast cuz I gotta wake up in a few so don't mind any grammatical errors!
Thanks in advance
