I will run it later...

Just so in case anyone wants to run some core duo test...Cipher is not multithreaded...It inly used one of my cores...MOl and Pri where dual threaded but not multithreaded...used 50% of my 4 cores....

From my testing it is neither HDD limited or bandwidth limited in the test...made little or no diff...pure cpu here!!!

Make sure ppl use the one Keys listed...newest build for 05 has about 10% difference in Molecular alone....

I used the one keys listed. But.

When going into the extracted folder it states build "ScienceMark 11-17-2003", well that is the name of the folder you have to click on. I take it that is the right one, or is there a 2005 version?

I downloaded one last night that load a 32bit folder and build says like march 21st 2005

Here is MarkFW900's scores...

ComPaq 2400US
ML28 Turion 1.6ghz
512mb of PC2100

molecular = 119.26
primordia = 588.1847
Cipher = 19.7868

Barton 1.866ghz
512mb of PC2700

Molecular = 78.180
Primordia = 608.349
cipher = 18.44

What are we to include the Barton is better then a P-M 1.733ghz??? Heck NO!!! But sure make you wander about a Turion being slower by 10x to the P-M in anything unless ofcourse it was a lie anyways....

I can't get SuperPi to run for some reason.

One thing that amazes me about these PM's is how damn fast they can clock up and down. At idle, I am at 800MHz according to CPU-Z. I click to run Super Pi 1.5 mod and immediately shoots to 1729MHz and the second its over, back down to 800. Very nice on the ol battery. But it does this when plugged in as well. Maybe to keep the heat down? Doesn't get very warm anyway. Now my older Dell Inspiron 4000 with a PIII 850 gets hotter than hell for some reason. The fan works fine and the heat sink fins are clean.

Hmm, i ran Science Mark again, but this time downloaded the latest version from HERE (ScienceMark 2.0 FINAL 32 - Bit version 21032005) (2005 version as Duvie pointed out).

Scores before with build 11/17/2003:

Molecular Dynamics Benchmark - 78.7132/s
Primordia Benchmark - 378.0526050081/s
Cipher Bench (AES) - 19.046673/s

Scores after with build 03/21/05:

Molecular Dynamics Benchmark - 79.84055/s
Primordia Benchmark - 380.0665539894/s
Cipher Bench (AES) - 16.927479/s

Not really much of a difference just faster in the Cipher benchmark, and a tad slower in the other two.

now we need someone to explain what the bench results mean? I mean Turion (even if overlocked) obviously sucks in SuperPi but performs better in Cipher and MOL, which means in real world applications....?? thx for clearing up things. anyone?

Will it is kind of 2 fold....

1) they are both mathematic type of applications...The different wins by each platform shows pretty good comparability...

2) superpi likes bandwidth and test like 1mb are small enough to be loded into the 2mb of cache....superpi has been a favorite of the larger L2 cache of the Intel chips....

I will have to run an 8mb or 16mb test to test that out... plus I will need a turion person to do the same..If the precentage lead is much less then we can assume some of the much larger cache is helping it...The P-M platforms with DDR2 9much higher bandwidth will be a factor that I dont think will be overcomed in this test...

Molecular Dynamics Benchmark - 120.66101s
Primordia Benchmark - 518.3265202950s
Cipher (AES) Benchmark - 20.656898s

SuperPi 1M - 39s
SuperPi 8M - 7m58s

There were a few programs running during these tests. I have an IBM T43. Results are interesting.

Edit: keysplayr2003 you need an SSE2 optimized version rather than SS3. Dothan doesn't have SEE3 implemented!! heres the link -- SuperPi SSE2

Thanks Dug!! It worked. 42 seconds in 1M bench.

Turion setup at your disposal guys, what clock speeds and what tests would you like to see on it?

I have memory potential of 440mhz
I have cpu potential of 2060mhz+ but I need a new clockgen PLL to go further
I have graphcs card potential of 380mhz core and 440mhz memory

As for me, I don't think I even can o/c this lappy if I wanted to. I would probably do a bit better with DDR533 though.
