Man, i just bought a new laptop during my trip to Hong Kong, I got a Fujitsu P-2040. IMHO it's the BEST combination of full-featured laptop vs. size/portability.

I got the 2nd version (no wireless for me) but with a 30gb hard drive, for about $1500 usd
I have to say, everyone whose seen it, has loved it.
It has a combo DVD/CDrw drive (which can be stopped a-la PCMCIA & removed while computer is running - to replace with a battery pack )
It's even got a firewire port & S-Video out (though mine is PAL) & a dongle for monitor out.
The Crusoe chip does fine for my needs. It runs really cool & the battery lasts around 2 hours if u don't turn the LCD brightness WAY up.
You do need to change to 16bit colour to watch DVD's (4mb ATI mobility video) but widescreen DVD's fit really nicely into it's 1280x768 res. LCD.
I've even installed Tactical Ops on it & it runs ok (though it can only use 800x600 resolution, so you either need to play in a box on the screen (difficult) or change the resolution to 800x600 & then use Fn+F5 to "stretch" the screen & play like that (doesn't look as bad as it sounds & is much easier to play games)
Photoshop, FlashMX, etc. all run fine. Even the cheezy "drag n' drop" cd burning software isn't sooo bad (i still installed Nero)
I really like it - it only weighs 3.4lbs which is about half my brother's GF's new compaq laptop.
