Hi all,
I am trying to fix a friend's laptop. It is running with one exception: the shows odd artifacts on the screen.
Specifically, the whole image is tinted blue and there are sharp changes of color where there should be smooth progression from one to another (good example is the title bar in WinXP which this has running on it). Also you can see small waves of what looks like interference if you look close enough.
I was worried it might be the graphics chip going but I plugged in a regular monitor into the VGA port and the output on that screen is crystal clear.
At this point I am trying to decide if I should replace the screen or the screen cable? I tried playing with the cable to see if that affects the image but it did not.
The laptop is Acer Extensa 5420.
Any suggestions?
