Laptop to TV via HDMI is cut-off in Windows 7

I have a Dell M1530 laptop with a Geforce 256 MB video card that has an HDMI connection. When I had Windows Vista installed on there, I would connect it to my Samsung LCD TV and almost no part of the desktop would get cutoff. However, now that I installed Windows 7, I am getting significant cut-off even though my resolution is the same (1920 x ??) and I have the latest drivers... Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Does your tv has a autofit/position button?

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them again?

Go back to the original drivers that came on the laptop in Vista. That may help.

I have the same problem with my RC Win7 with a motherboard Intel-based HDMI output. I haven't looked at it lately, but when I last checked a couple of months ago, there were no new Intel video drivers.

From what I could tell, a lot of the solutions that worked with XP or Vista hadn't been updated for Win7 yet. Again, this was a couple of months ago. Thngs might have changed.

Check your refresh rate. I know on my projector 59Hz is too small and 60Hz is just right. Might want to fiddle with other refresh rates that your TV can handle.

I found a way to fix the problem! Thanks for the suggestion to check the TV settings... I changed the Aspect Ratio from 16:9 to "Just Scan" and now it fits perfectly!
