So someone put an open coke bottle next to my t42 and proceeded to knock it over onto my computer. I immediately tried to dry the computer off as best as possible. I left it over night to dry out and it still wouldnt turn on in the morning. I took it apart and cleaned out all the coke I could find. Are there any hopes for it turning on once I put it back together?
I contacted IBM tech support and was told that type of damage wasnt covered by my warrantee. The tech support guy said that I could send it in but would be charged $899 to fix it. Im not quite sure where he got this number from, but it seems very high. Can anyone comment on their experiences with IBM repair service bc I though they had a reputation for taking care of their customers fairly well? He also said it would take a few weeks, and I cant be without a computer for that long bc of school stuff.
Does anyone have any advice or tips on what I could do to possibly get my computer working?
Thanks
Steven
