HELP plez::
i have a large data file (csv format) which is currently now well over a 1/3 million lines and excel running on a win xp pro machine with 1 gig of ram refuses to load it ("file not loaded completely"). last month end is was 24.5 meg. atm i'm having to edit the file with a text editor, just keep the current month's info but if anyone can think of a better solution i'd appreciate it. naturally, i'd prefer not to zero the file periodically if at all possible (it would need doing every 2 or 3 months and that's too often for my money).
does open office handle bigger files better?
on reflection, maybe this should be a database application but the data is rather dirty and cleaning it is, currently, very easy with excel. i'd imagine that a db app would be rather more work to clean.
