wow... this is a nice deal. If anyone has 14.4v makita recip and circ saw please chime in on cutting time. I have a black and decker recip saw that only gets about 10 mins of time = worthless. I already have the 14.4 drill with case and two batts but could make that a gift. Any reviews????

if you are concerned about cutting time why are you asking about a 14.4v tool?

18v sawzalls are next to worthless as well, so there is no way the 14.4v one is going to be powerful or last very long.....

I am a builder and I can tell you that dew is correct. You won't be doing any heavy duty cutting with 14V. The saw is good for light plywood. Still a good deal for the weekend warrior though.

maybe not the "best in the business", but an ok deal if you need a cordless leaf blower. It's a good way to keep the piles of money you have from falling over and cluttering up your walking space.

i have used a number of drills from the major manufacturers and the makita's cordless drills are certainly my choice even though i prefer the whole system of milwaukee.... what's your pick?

Dewalt, by far......I haven't found a job yet that my 18V hammerdrill won't do without complaining. The 18V circular saw is decent, but eats batteries quckly. The 18V sawzall is fairly heavy duty, IMHO.

dewalt is a glorified black and decker.... owned by black and decker even.

Power tools are kinda like cars the way people swear by one brand or the other . I personally prefer Milwaukee stuff.

Dewalt is very nice... Black and Decker is Firestorm and IMHO they suck.

I've had both. Dewalt is the best.

My last Makita was the 9.6v drill -- it was horrible. It would lock up if it had to work hard and I would have to wait for the thermal breaker to reset to start back.

I now have the Home Depot Ryobi 18v kit. Not as good as Dewalt but much cheaper...
