i had the 2001fp and hated it. The interlacing problem to me is server and negates all the good stuff that a 16ms LCD should give you. The Viewsonic you listed uses the same panel as the 2001fp so youll have the same problem. I went through 5 2001fps before i gave up. All had more the 15 dead/stuck pixels and some had over 100. Horrid back lighting on all of them. Screendooring was very present. Stay away from this LCD..

Agreed, two monitors is not good for movies, I don't watch movies on my PC, that's what the telly is for.

Disagree on the "look cool", with the right mount dual or tri monitors looks very cool, and is very practical for getting work done. I use two monitors at work and it rocks, never really have an app spanning monitors, so the bezel in the middle is not an issue.

For gaming I drool over some of the tri-monitor gaming setups shown on matrox's site, for some gaming tri monitors could be the optimal setup as you don't have the dual bezel line down the center.

I guess it comes down to what you use your computer for, if you use it to watch movies get the biggest wide screen LCD you can afford. OTOH for the price of a 23" apple cinama you could probably get a pretty nice telly....

I put up another vote for the 213T...I saw this on display in a store...looked beautiful, and I didn't notice any ghosting on the game demo they had running.

I have a SyncMaster 213T review going up tonight.

I've been pretty busy the last couple months but we will definitely start cranking out some more LCD reviews now.

man, i think i would look long and hard at the apple cinema display ... they are so fancy! Although, when its all said and done, im not sure i would personally use widescreen for anything but movies. Plus i dont think many of the games i play support widescreen resolutions, which would leave wacky bars at the sides. Then the 20" widescreen would be more like a 18" standard lcd.

With that said, i think i would most likely go with dell. Thats just me, but im a cheap mofo

Good luck with your purchase, let us know what you decide.

Nice review Kris...

However, it leaves me just as confused as before. I love the higher quality of the 213t, but as a heavy gamer, I lean towards the 2001fp.... decisions decisions.

To make matters worse, I just got a bonus from work, so I'm itching to get a large LCD.

I also game a little bit, sometimes a lot, but realistically, most of my time with the computer is spent browsing the web, or watching HDTV\movies from afar.

For those purposes, the better PQ and screen size of the 213t make it a clear winner. And the fact that you can grab one off ebay for about the price of a 2001fp.

I don't know if I would buy something like large LCD off of Ebay. I would spend little extra and buy from somewhere which has good exchange policy.

re the ACD 20" widescreen - when comparing it to the dell 20" and the samsung 21", you are actually losing screen area. the screen is 80 pixels wider but thats hardly widescreen. dont get the adc for the "widescreen"

LCDs haven't gotten out of the silly toy stage yet.

too bad most peoples desks can only support 1 monitor let alone 4 22" CRTs that with a combined weight of 300lbs let alone the heat

for plain text than no CRT will ever match the sharpness of an LCD as well
