Pricegrabber,

Thanks for the compilation! I'm going to use it as a reference when I go to Vegas.

Don't feel disheartened - There are lots of folks who appreciate all the tips you guys pass on at AT, but are too lazy to type a thank you note (me included)!

Keep up the good work.

Yeah, whatever. That's what I love about AnandTech - I spend 30 mins posting everything I know about almost every Strip hotel, and the one comment I get is that one.
>>

calm down bro, i wasn't tryin to talk isht or nothing, just supplementing your recap, which i also found useful.

<< Here is my amended review of the Venetian (please note spelling, deez): >>

oh no, Venetian spellingpolice.

<< Venetian: Almost tied with Bellagio. Totally incredible place, with ABSOLUTELY the best regular hotel rooms (the crummiest of which is a cramped, cheepass, nasty 700sf). Service surprisingly good, restaurants are excellent, really feels like Italy. >>

you got that right

<< Oh, and for the record - I assume you (deez) gamble - if so, what the hell are you paying that kind of money for? I am a casual player at the Venetian, and I have yet to pay more than $50/nite, except Millenium NY Eve ($200). They have a deal going right now for $149/nite, buy one get one free, or $99 buy one get one free on selected days - plus you get 2x$25 airline vouchers and $25 in chips.

>>

first time at the venetian, and my girlfriend, who likes to spend cash, wanted to stay there. what the hell can i do? i usually play at Luxor, and get comped there, but she was sick of that place (we go 2-3 times a year). i don't mind spending cash, as it comes and goes. in fact, i am taking california Bar this july, the day i get out (thurs) we are driving straight to Vegas, to stay at ... Bellagio. can you freakin believe it? i lost $1200, my friend lost $1700, we can get cheap rooms if we want, but she wants to stay at Bellagio, cuz of what it looks inside. i already have $800 saved up just for the room. pithy.

damn, losing $1200 will almost get me a comped hooker at the cheaper places, at Venetian boy that's small potatoes.

I am thinking about going there this coming weekend...

Does anyone know of any good deals for a single night? The best price I've seen is about $90 at Rio or $120 at Flamingo...

Try priceline or hotwire.com, specify 4 star or better hotel and put in a low ball offer. I got a $300 room for $50 at a resort in Palm Springs last fall this way

<< Unfortunately, this trip was my first loser... and I left enough on the BJ tables to (almost) make up for 5 visits worth of comps >>

Were you in a casino or the bunny ranch?

To stay on topic: my favs are the Hard Rock (great scenery) and Mandalay (awesome wave-pool). Not a lot of deals available, but I'm not a gambler so my hotel room gets used...

I am thinking about going to Vegas this Saturday night.... Does anyone know of any hot deals for casino hotels on the strip?

The cheapest I found was the Sahara for $89 or Ballys for $120 on Saturday night.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

i was in vegas a couple of weeks ago, and we stayed at a new hotel called the tuscany. we had to pick the week that there was a huge construction convention (around 500,000 people) so we couldn't find anywhere on the strip with vacancy. we were two blocks away from bally's. bally's has a monorail that runs down to the mgm grand, and you can cross the street and hop on one at the excalibur that runs down to the luxor and mandalay bay. we spent most of our time on that end of the strip, but we'd go down to the sahara for the dollar blackjack tables at night. i don't think there's any bad rooms in vegas as long as you stay on, or right around the strip. hope this helps some.

Just got this offer today from NYNY:

Sun through Thur:
- $20 in merchandise points at Slot Exchange
- $59/night for 2 nights
- $50 in Travel Certificates

Call today & mention "Queens" to make reservation: 877 771 3770

This offer is good between April 1 & June 30, 2002.

I've always stayed at Bellagio and almost never play at NYNY (not sure why I get these offers), but I do go there to check out the dueling piano bar... seems like a cool place.

Hope this helps someone. Wish I could be there with ya, but I probably won't be in Vegas again until August

Try looking up www.biddingfortravel.comwww.biddingfortravel.com
This site gives lot of tips for bidding on priceline, and also people post the rates they are getting on bidding for air tickets, hotels and rentals.
They also have the latest deals on hotels in Las Vegas. The first post for this thread probably came from there.
I have used info from this site for bidding successfully for a trip to Chicago. Saves a lot of money.

umm i have a question hehe.. I'm only 20, but will be 21 on the 6th of June. If I go to Vegas on say, the 5th and its 11pm PST, will I be able to get the quoted rates. And also, will they still kick me out?. What if I say that I was 21 EST? lol

Funny, they kick me out, and I come back in and show em my ID an hour later.. I'm 21 now, Mr.Officer/security guard, get lost =)
