Size won't nessasarily save you from the cops on a dark night. There are pistols that are .22 or smaller in size like that. If indeed this is small.

This wouldn't even get onto a plane. I took a gun-shaped lighter with me one time, looked basically the same as that, and they wouldn't let me take it as it "looked like a gun". And this was 5 years ago.
Still, it's a neat toy

The "great for pets" is because pets like chasing dots of light around. Try it sometimes. Particularly cats go for that sort of thing. Now, a laser pointer shaped like a gun seems like a stupid idea to me, but it is pretty cheap.

They are right. I have a regular laser pointer that I got from cyberrebates (luckily it was free) and I point it at the wall and the cats go nuts chasing it. Good for about a half hour of mindless entertainment.

It is "great for kids" too.

When I saw the title I couldn't help but think "Wow a laser gun so I can blast space aliens." Needless to say I was quite suprised to find out it was a laser pointer in the shape of a gun.

This _would_ be great for presentations - should take ~10 seconds to clear the room and you're done! Really short Q&A session at the end, or else a really long one with the guys over @ 'protect and serve'.

We use a laser pointer to paly with our cat and entertain ourselves. He chases is around the room, then we run it in tight circles until he is really dizzy, then we shoot it across the floor and watch him run sideways trying to catch it!

A friend of mine uses a laser pointer to jack with his fish. I guess they think it is food or something and they chase it around in the tank. Just got to make sure they don't chase it out of the tank ;o)
