I would just want to point out that this gentleman has to sell at least 450 sites per server just to break even... That is one crowded server! To make $1000 profit in a YEAR he would have to have over 780 sites on one server.

Not trying to TC here, but I just thought the basic economics should be pointed out.

<< So if I get this right: "All hosting accounts require a domain name - we do not do any subdomain hosting under CYBERWINGS.COM (www.subdomain.cyberwings.com)", I can't keep my zoneedit DNS services and just have them redirect request for joeblow.com to an HTTP address at cyberwings.com ?
I guess it's not that big of a deal, since I can't think of any services offered by zoneedit that aren't offered by cyberings.com, or am I missing something ?
cheers

another thingy:
"Please note, you CANNOT use BOTH FTP and FrontPage together, if you CHOOSE YES, you will not be able to use FTP properly - it will mess up your permissions. If you choose NO, you will be able to use FTP just fine, but not FrontPage."
Does it mean that if I want FP extensions (which I do), I won't have FTP access to my site ?! Not very clear...
>>

You need to provide CW with a domain. So when you type www.somedomain.com it goes to CW. You can not use an IP address to get to your hosted site. It seems unless you are using zoneedit because your Registrar is not providing you DNS services you can just switch to CW.

It does mean if you want FP extensions you won't get FTP access. You will need to publish your web site by using the tools built into FP.

and how would that be done with zoneedit, I looked up the site again but can't see any DNS forwarding features.

Does anyone know their nameservers address? Is it the same for all accounts? I'd like to change my domain's nameservers now at my registrar, so when my account becomes active in 2 weeks there's no propogation time.

Thanks!

AFAIK, you won't be able to set up your nameservers in advance. If I read everything correctly, they have a number of servers, each with its own nameservers. Your host will only be on the nameservers they send you. If you want to try though, there's a list of nameservers here: Link

Pre-order!? AWESOME! I just picked up 2 P5's, in case I want to transfer my 3-95.com accounts over or start 2 more sites.

For $7.80, you can't go wrong. SWEET!

Can anyone tell me how to set up an e-mail service on cyberwings.com so I can access it through pop? I'll be using it to replace my yahoo.com address since they will be discontinuing pop access w/ their free service soon.

You don't want any forwarding services.

First, look at your registrars website. They may have the ability to update your primary and secondary DNS information. If they do not, try zoneedit.

After your CW account is setup, they will send you an e-mail with all of the information you will need. You will be able to log in and create e-mail accounts.

For anyone that hasn't done this yet I suggest you do. I have just purchased my 3rd plan five from them. Yes it takes a while to setup but after that it rocks. Can't beat this deal. Both of my sites load fast and I can do whatever I want with them.

Their POP mail is more reliable than comcast's and unlike comcast you get WORKING Webmail . I bought one plan 5 to setup one of my domains just to get working webmail. i don't even use comcast's email anymore.

Three domain hosted for 2 years each on plan5 for $23.40 can't beat that with a stick.

[/b]EDIT[/b]

OH Yeah, if you don't already have a domain name get it through godaddy.com They are only $8.95. Best deal going!

Still can't believe they haven't reached 1000 accounts since last week. I am seeing messages about people tracking # of plans taken so far, but I got one today.

I'm sure that CyberWings is gonna milk this for all it's worth. If you figure this has been posted on TB, FW and AT you take all the registered users who took advantage of this, all the lurkers PLUS all the hundreds of other Hot Deals websites they probably surpassed 1,000 new accounts within hours.

Car salesman use this same tactic. They tell you if you leave the dealer, they can't give you the low sale price they are offering you. It's to get people to signup without actually being able to think about it.

Do I understand this correctly, You get 6 Accounts (5 + 1free) for 3.90, or is it 3.90 per Account?

Also Where is the best place to Register a Domain name?

Thanks.

It's $3.90 per P5 account, buy 5 P5 hosting plans for $19.50 and get 1 P5 free. So the end result is 6 P5's for $19.50 per year.

Have you read this entire thread? Notice how everyone is recommending GoDaddy.com to register your domain?

I had signed up for 5 cyberwings accounts. But I just heard of Data Packet and it looks like a very good plan ($10 per year with 500MB of web space, ASP.NET, etc...).

What do you guys think ?

<< any thoughts on the DataPacket one? >>

I signed up with them a couple weeks ago. Customer service has been excellent, and they got my account set up very quickly. The only problem I've had is occasional "Too many users" error messages. Other than that, it's been great.

As of 4/29 CyberWings is still offering this 50% off sale.

The best bang for your buck deal are the 5 P5's for $19.50 per year plus 1 free P5 hosting plan.
