LOL. I don't always read all the info, just clickty click on the link, typed in my e-mail addy and then came back to AT. Read the post about it being a scam and was like, "Sh1t, what did I do?" Then I realized that all I had done was type in my e-mail, and then tought: "How did the scammer get my real name to pop up when I typed in my e-mail?" Then I thought: "Who is the thread crapper that says this isn't legit." Then I dazed. I love AT.

I was pissed off when I went to the giveaway in Austin.

Austin was (I think) the first city where they started giving away 50, instead of 200.

So when they had given away like 35, and he said "we've only got 15 more" I was like WTF!?!?!?

ended up that a number 3 less than mine/my girlfriends was called, and a number 2 more... DAMMIT, if I had only run a red light, or stopped at a yellow light or something, I woulda won owell

LOL! I am still laughing. I ended up getting 14 entries during this event and won one of the Gigabyte mb's with Athlon 1800+ processor that was left over. I about fell over when I got the email on the 30th! Thanks to the OP of the original thread, this thread, and Anandtech I am now going to move up from a k62/450! By the way, I also spoke with a rep at Momentum to make sure it was legit. They are a marketing co for Amd, and the website is

Cpu is 1800+ (retail boxed) and mb is ga7dx as the contest said it was, in the static bag with everything in one Extreme Performance box and a congrats letter. I am just infinately happy I entered that contest! Well I have to go now, I have some building to do....

I won I won........Well an AMD Cap (hat) yesterday. I never was sent an email or other notification. Just a box in my mail with AMD as a return address. Inside it referenced the xpcentral thingy.

I am not an AMD fan, and I never touched AMD CPUs. But I did win 1800+ ( I told everybody I won a 1.8G CPU ) plus a mobo online. Should I setup myself my first AMD powered PC or just sell them?

I also got that email on the 30th, but no arrival as yet. The site said 3 to 4 weeks when I did the online confirm stuff. Where are you at? I am in Michigan. I wonder if some places get it quicker. Also do you know what revision it is? 4.0?
The newer GA7DXR+ is a smoker. it added ATA133 Promise, USB 2.0, extra ram slot, AGP Pro, and voltage adjustment. I was hoping they might change to later boards for the last few winners

Well, I won one online.

They sent me an 1800+ (1.53Ghz) processor with a Gibabyte GA-7DX(AMD 761 chipset) motherboard.

Too bad I didn't jump on that BestBuy/ Crucial DDR RAM deal last week. But I have to buy presents for friends and family.

Yes they had Detroit on the stop. (actually Auburn Hills out by the Palace). They were sending me those "you can now play again" emails after every stop except the one before Detroit, so I didn't know that stop until after the next day. Was only 30 miles away from me.
