Last concert you saw?

Hmmm I have tix for him and have been debating whether or not to keep them. How long was his set? Lots of improv?

I've seen him 3x now. The Ryman was the first time I've seen him on his own. (1st time was opener for Kings of Leon then Foo Fighters). He's awesome and I've got tickets to see him again in July.

It was awesome. It's such a great place acoustically for live music. Even chino mentioned about playing in such a historic play and he seemed to be having a great time.

After the show we were walking down the alley between Broadway (behind tootsies) and the Ryman. Not many people were walking that way and I happen to look into a stairwell and none other than Steph Carpenter of the Deftones was sitting there smoking! So wife and I talked to him for a few minutes and then I borrowed some girls pen and he signed a shirt and ticket for us. Awesome guy every time I've met him and he's so nice.

Yeah I love the Ryman. My favorite downtown beloved patriot tonk actually has their back entrance adjacent to the Ryman back entrance (Robert's Western World). People line up back there for autographs all the time.

Wilk, Commerford, & Morello slayed the effin' shit outta that gig! I'm not a big hip hop fan so I could listen to the Rage stuff without vocals if I had to. Chuck D & the CH singer can go home... I never got to see Rage live and when I saw Audioslave they didn't play a note of the Rage catalog.

Last night was still pretty damn good though.

Went to a church concert with the danish black metal band Solbrud last night. We have a 'upside down' cultural week in the city atm. Really well played including the church organ in the performance. Obviously caused some controversy, but on the way out from the church I heard some of those responsible for the church saying to each other "they're really polite" about the audience. So an all round good experience

When we saw The Cult last April Ian started a min-riot when he told the audience to "Come on down front! Let's get this joint rockin'!" Security was not pleased.

well that PoR show was entertaining...but that's pretty much all I can say about that. Chuck D was not a good replacement for ZDLR; at least B Real was close enough at parts.

The members of rage make a better backing band for Public Enemy/Cypress Hill, vs B Real/Chuck D being a good replacement for ZDLR.

I think I would have had better comments if they only play their own songs, but since they just cover other bands, they come off as a talented band, with covers that are less successful than the originals.

The end of take the power back was particularly painful.

We just got the latest Brown Sabbath album at the station. It's all Black Sabbath covers and is seriously fantastic.

Come to think of it, it was Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, free in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco around Oct. 1, I went Saturday and Sunday. 6+ stages with continuous live groups. Always a blast. ~500,000 in attendance this year.
