Trans-Siberian Orchestra in 2012. The show was good, but the crowd sucked. Before that it was Dream Theater in 2000. I generally don't like live music except for classical/opera.

I was once again reminded that top quality recordings played on really good stereo systems with really good speakers still suck compared to live. In concert, I realized that part of what Arvo Part is doing with his harmonies is layering polyphony among sections on top of polyphony within each section.

I was able to nab tickets to Highly Suspect playing a small'ish venue in April. I've been wanting to see them for a while.

Garbage at the Roseland in Portland. They're coming again this summer for an outdoor show with Blondie but I can't blow $200 on tickets because I'm trying to save up for a vacation.

Cost was about $100 per seat. nose bleeds were $6 I think. I was 5th row!!!!!!

Went to the 50 year anniversary Sgt. Pepper show, 13 songs each performed by a different SF Bay Area band, at the UC Theatre Saturday June 3, 2017.

Interesting thing is that much of the album is a faux live performance, so the album lends itself to a live recreation-performance. More than 70 musicians there and at the end it looked like all were on the stage for the encore.

I saw Tool at the Bangor (Maine) Waterfront Pavilion. They still got it. Awesome show.
